The Dish April 1st New HD Saga (Merged Threads)

This is the way Dish has operated since Ive been here (2006). If you dont like it, I recommend Directv because they are generally stress free and more professionally operated.

Yeah, thats a little more rare. Ive had both services for more than a year at a time, D* is just a better company, period. You can say what you want about their DVR's, but the company and video service are just better.

Less hassle, almost no drama. Dish Network is the Dollar Tree of satellite

I too am disapointed that the Viacom channels didn't launch. But...it's threads like this, and many others, that are the perfect reason why Dish rarely gives an exact date when channels are going to launch. I'm surprised they did this time. It seems they can't win either way. If they say "soon" everyone gets mad because they won't say when. If they give a date, and don't make it for some reason, well you get the picture. I too want to switch to a turbo package to save money, but can't till these channels come online. I hope when they do, they will be in the turbo packages.

I remember on Charlie Chat that the new national HD channel would become available on April 1 but I don't remember them telling us which year.

I can give A exact date of when the new hd channels will launch. It will be a day after the last new south park.

All I can say is I told you so.

Yesterday's non-launch of new national HD channels went off exactly as I expected. E* promised something by a certain day and did not deliver. Business as usual. I don't know why anyone would be surprised by any of this.

My feeling is it will be perhaps mid-April or even sometime in May before E* can manage to turn on the channels they said they were going to add April 1.

I'm betting it's still the "technical problem" and I bet the technical problem is HD Absolute.

I don't think they can figure out how to give the TurboHD subs the channels, and not the HD Absoluters. It seems some TurboHD customers and HD Absolute customers are getting CMT and Comedy, and some Spike. I'm betting that was a deliberate test, and it failed when the Absolutes saw it.

First, they added Fox News and Fox Buisness, but not to Turbo, expaining they may add it later. They probaby are waitng to figure out how.

Yesterday, they deleted and added 7 TMP channels. My guess is they are playing with the package flags and some engineering boxes.

My 722k arrived just the other day
He came to my home in the usual way
But Charlie had planes to catch and bills to pay
He promised HD so I signed away
And he was laughin' 'fore I knew it, and as I waited
He'd say "I'm gonna get you that HD, soon
You know I'm gonna get you that HD."

And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon
Little boy blue and the man on the moon
When's the HD comin', Charlie?
You said April 1, but I guess we'll get it soon
Just as always we'll get it soon.

Im on the phone with Dish Network right now trying to get an explanation and they are acting as if they they dont have a clue as to what I am mad about or the new channels. They are asking for the channel numbers, telling me they have to make sure I have those channels in my package. I keep repeating that I am referring to the 7 viacom HD channels that were supposed to launch on April 1st. The CSR keeps going in circles with me and I have now asked to speak with someone who can actually answer my questions. (I have been on hold for 15 minutes awaiting a supervisior and she keeps coming back on the line asking me to hold for a few more minutes. This B**** is making me ill.
