Puerto Rico- HD announcement and more. What do you think?

I cant say since I dont have HD box...but since I havent seen a new uplink report from u Digi...saying the HD channels are available to us now ....I dont know if anybody can see the channels.

Hope Dish can add additional HD channels on the remaining 2 spots....another 14-16 HD channels......in the process...literally forcing viewers here to notice the plenty of HD goodness Dish have on offer for us PR subs....& in the process...maybe getting new subs

No, they are not available yet but you can still check the signal strengths with a receiver that has an 8PSK tuner (a couple of SD boxes do, and of course all HD's do)

Just checked. All 4 transponders are still dead.

digi I have been doing it in my vip 211 but it's not showing no other spotbeam on!

Don't worry just yet.... they fired up several "beams" in the tables on 129 before the Ciel-2 satellite was even located at 129.

Interesting.....with all spots on....it appears that there is some loss of signal. Either way....90s is still quite high & will probably do just fine even in rain.

Interesting to note that 23 & 29 r hot also....since no uplick for those spots took place. Maybe some more HD uplink r in the planning. Cant wait for PR retailer chat

Maybe the loss of signal can be interference with the other spots on, but I'm no expert, so don't quote me on that
Hopefully in this week Uplink Report we get more HD for those 2 spots. Can't hardly wait. Hopefully NFL Network, Universal and MGM HD are coming.

It's to be expected as the power is spread out on the beam now. Don't get excited about an empty transponder turned on. I have a transponder on a beam on 129 that has been active for several months now with no video streams assigned to it at all.

Those are some high numbers for the new signal meter. Must be using some big dishes eh? My highest on my Dish500 is on 110 CONUS and those are in the 80's. My 129 is 50's. You should have zero issues with those type of numbers.

Lol...Digi...u threw water on all the hopes & excitment the HD subs in PR might had with extra spots turned on..

The high numbers r because they r on spots I guess...since the CONUS ones r not so high. Mostly around 50-60. Big dish dont know abt it...I guess its the Dish use in PR....we have to use 2 dish to get 110/119. Maybe that can be the reason.

Sorry...calling it like I see it. There's an extra TP over AK/HI and it is sitting unused. Just a hunch but what you've seen in the uplink is probably the channels you are going to end up with.

Sorry, forgot to mention the dish size. I have a 4' looking at 110 and a 6' looking at 119 (both Channel Master).

I dont think the local stations broadcast the channels in HD. Infact Fox & ABS which r in PR....r Low Power stations...hence its very difficult to pick them OTA. CBS & NBC r in VI not in PR. I hope these 2 stations move to PR...& all 4 of these stations turn into High Power stations...with HD turned on.

BTW....do any of these channels give close captioning issues. I reported to Dish...& they accepted that NBC channel is having issue & already reported & they r working on it...but they didnt knew abt ABC, CBS & Fox & that Dish tech will work on it. Last night...the CC started working on ABS atleast. I have 625& 311 & both have the same issue (sorry for being off topic)

Rajmarie there are Hd they are going to transmit to dish via broadband technoguy gave me the information a couple of months ago!

I dont understand the MPEG4 SD uplink. Mostly people have SD boxes....eg me like 625 & 311. How we will receive MPG4 I have no idea.
