Ask AllAmericanDirect - Distant Network Q's

I, for one, have been asked about a dozen times which cell phone provider I have and how I get my internet. Only on the rare occasion do they not bother to ask me. Now they are asking me about my alarm system. I have cable internet (don't need Hughsnet), I have Verizon Wireless plus I have 1 year left on my contract and I don't think AAD will have a better deal on a new phone than Verizon does, and I have an A.D.T. alarm system in my house (I don't use A.D.T. anymore; I have a local company that reprogrammed my system to their dispatch that I am paying 1/3 of the price that A.D.T. charges for the same kind of service).

I haven't said anything yet to them, but I have thought several times about asking to speak to their management to tell them not to ask me about my internet, cell phone, or alarm system ANYMORE!! I am calling about my distant networks, NOT the other stuff!! I don't mind if they keep a record of when they last asked me about the other stuff and ask me once a year or so (I can live with that); but this asking you EVERY TIME you call about your distant nets is RIDICULOUS! It's flat out ANNOYING!! Usually when I call them I try to get off the phone as quickly as possible after they have taken care of my distant nets BEFORE they begin to give me the sales pitch!! :shh
Its completely uncalled for. I'm glad you see this as an issue as well as I do. Not a good way to do business IMO.

So I'm putting out there my complaints, So everyone is aware of what to look out for.

Maybe if there sales pitch was like that of Billy Mays I might consider. But yeah it gets annoying asking what cell provider, what internet and what security service I use. I feel like a broken record, I have at&t for my cell service, I have Embarq DSL and dont need a security system and I have to repeat that everytime I call, all I want to do is take care of my distant network service not spend more money.

Adam, I got another question for you.
How about I start a poll asking how many of your customers like being attack with sales pitches when they call your customer service department.
Do you want to see how accurate that is?

I had AAD for 25 months now, and last months credit issue, made me go ahead and Put experation dates on ALL my Networks for the 13th of August, So with that in mind can anyone give me a reason to continue with them?
$18.99 for 4 channels, Sorry still to high, How about $18.99 for 8 HD channels.

I'd probably pay the $19 for 8 HD channels a few months to check them out and give me a few options for football watching during the football season, but then again I don't even watch all the football available via OTA.

I think Dishnetwork is going to do just fine this year for me with HD locals, So I'm not going to worry to much about AAD come football season.

Hello Adam,

I'm in north Georgia. My local cable offers BOTH the Chattanooga, TN stations and Atlanta stations. Direct TV offers this also. My question is: Until recently AAD offered the Atlanta stations. Is there anyway to provide them again? Dish only gives the Chattanooga stations. It is nice to have stations from the state I live in.
Thanks.

Unfortunately not. We have switched feeds from Atlanta to New York. There are no plans to switch back.

Adam,

This morning during Good Day LA on KTTV Fox 11 the A/V was out of sync. This could be on their end, not sure. And the audio on WNBC/NY is way over modulated.

I'm from LA but live in Phoenix now. I considered the LA HD channels because I miss the local news from LA and thought it might be nice to have them for when my relatives from LA visit but it said I need a waiver. Not sure what that means.

It's after 4pm on the west coast and the KTTV-HD feed on AAD is STILL out of (A/V) sync. Adam - are you aware and able to fix it? It's painful to watch.

As long as it has the Mastercard symbol on it, you should be able to use that without a problem.

You may want to select a service length greater than 1 month so that you don't have service interruption if we are unable to charge your prepaid card monthly.

Good idea, but it looks like monthly charges are the only online option. Could the website be changed to allow a one year purchase?

HD falied to activate

ADAM:
MIght wish to relay this to customer service.
I called to change from SD to HD.
While on hold, the recording said to have your receiver and smart card #s ready. Rep never asked for them. About 4 hours later i called back, explained original call, this rep took my #'s and I had HD in 5 minutes. Great job AAD is doing with the HD.

I called to switch to HD from SD. They were able to do it with just my tel #.

Adam hasn't been around here much this week. Wondering if the guide problem with remote access has been fixed.

There are currently no plans to add or change the origin of our HD networks.

Adam:

Welcome

Please pass this along to your marketing folks.

It might be a whole lot easier to sell an 18.99/month HD package on the east coast if you offer the NY channels in HD. There are a huge amont of people on the east coast that are would be a lot more interested in NY than Chicago or LA. and since the NY markert airs at exactly the same time as the Chicago market there would be no time zone issues. Just more subs!

Honestly I like the Chicago feeds over New York since I already have them in SD. I like having 4 different cities gives more choice. But I would trade Chicago for Kansas City if that choice were avaliable.
