i just went to dish site and was able to get on but it was kind of slow today. i am sure it is getting hammered with all the changes and such going on
 
Well, I went ahead and went on the Dish chat. I have AEP, Gold and Platnium and my bill from 7/28-8/27 shows $10 still being charged for Platnium. The rep on the chat line was very nice and said she would waive the Platnium so that saves ten bucks a month. I have always subscribed to HBO and Showtime and she also gave me three months free HBO and Showtime and I did not even ask!

You don't have any movie channel premiums so your bill should go down $10.
 
Platinum hd

We are new subscribers to dish network (installer comes Saturday)
We ordered the classic bronze 100 hd. What new channels would the platinum get me. I thought is only gave you hd in channels you already have.

The most recent word from Dish says the Platinum HD pack is to be absorbed in all levels of Classic packs. Haven't received any change notice that alters this move.
 
When I try to go to the HD programming page it just goes through the loading thing and it never displays a page that you can read.
It sure looks as though Dish is getting hit very hard on their HD page.
I get a different variation of the page with every different browser I use. They are starting to use tech specific widgets, that have long since been found to cause problems. This will only cause them grief. BUT since they just started using them and their developers are cashing in on it, other than doing the right thing and telling them that simple is better, it will not be overload, but incompatibility that is causing problems.
 
Platinum consists of channels that do not have standard definition counterparts on Dish plus two sports talk channels that do have SD counterparts but are not part of any "classic/HD" combo.

I didn’t have the Plat HD pack...so I went on to chat in in a matter of min they added it. Done and DONE.

In the opening window i told them their website says the Plat HD PAK is now included with all HD packages and that i would like them to add it to my account. The following chat took less that 5 min.

Just got off chat with dish adding platinum went without a hitch. I had classic silver with hd already.

Not everyone has success. We have Classic Gold 250 + GoldHD + Platinum. I tried to get the chat CSR to remove the Platinum charge and he insisted this was only for new subs. I pointed out that I found nothing on the Dish website to this effect and asked for a link. He couldn't find anything to back up his claim, but wouldn't make the change no matter what I suggested or pleaded about new vs. existing subs. Oh well, I guess I'll play roulette again later.
 
Increase your odds and use the method Scott outlined:

Call in, drop your HD add-on.
Call back in again, and add HD.

Tried calling this time and got the same routine about new HD subscriptions. So per your advice I asked if I removed HD and then added it back, whether I would get the Platinum charge removed. The CSR tried it and it worked. Thanks!
 
Unfortunately, and this IS NOT applicable to Dish more than any company's CSRs, in that some individual(s) can't be trained. Yesterday, a loyalty rep agreed to my requests, but I said I would have to think about it. She made the notes on my account. Called back and got a loyalty rep who said NO. I could tell she had "limitations". Called again, got a GREAT lady name Starr, and all was well. You just have to persevere.
 
I just called. I have Bronze 100 with HD. The rep said I can have the Platinum at no additional charge. She added them on the spot and confirmed my monthly rate. She then offered me HBO & Showtime free for 3 months. Took that too, and made a note to cancel those on Nov. 3. Not bad to get a whole slew of HD channels for no more money!
