NCAA 2009-2010 The Bowls

please don't mention Tenn in '98
I still have nightmares about the Hogs losing on "fumblegate" that season :(
still the most sickening loss in my lifetime

I would have gone with LSU in 2006- the Hogs had an outside shot at a national title, and it was a home game to boot.

MNC Thoughts

-Well, what a buzzkill to start the game. Colt McCoy, the face of the Longhorns injured on the opening drive?! I think Bama fans know in their heart of hearts this win was tainted.

-My heart goes out to Colt. I bet it killed him in having to watch the biggest game of his career on the sidelines. The emotion was evident when he could barely speak during the post game interview.

-I echo Anders in being glad ABC had the rights to this game over FOX. When Musburger said the sights and sounds prior to the kickoff was something that can't be put into words, then decided to keep quite while the camera panned the crowd was a stroke of genius. 'Burger and Herbstreet work well together. There's not another crew I'd rather listen to during a big game.

-Is it me or is Nick Saban the hardest guy on the planet to root for? I don't think I've ever seen him smile. Not when he got Gatorade dumped on him, not after the final seconds wore off the clock, not during the post game press conference. He just seems like a jerk.

-Congrats SEC and Tide fans. A wins a win I guess.

C'mon, don't start that crap now. Injuries are a part of football and as a team you have to play through them.

It was real disappointing. I was excited to see a good game, but ended up turning it off at halftime.

:up:up FOX is absolutely awful when it comes to college football!

He's pretty bad, but his mentor is a little worse to me.

Congrats to Bama. I just wish McCoy could have played so we could have seen a better game. Aside from the Rose Bowl, the BCS games were not nearly as captivating this year as they were in years past.

No sympathy here for Texas. They got a bit of their own back. Usually they're the ones that are putting people out of the game with injuries.

I was a bit suprised that Colt McCoy would come out of the game because he ran into a linebacker. He didn't even hit the ground.

It must've hit a nerve ending or something. He said after the game that his "arm doesn't hurt, he just has no feeling in it. It's dead."

He is a no nonsense business man. I see nothing wrong with that.

Thats ignorant. Bama would have just clocked him on the next play or the next or the next. At that point Texas had survived on kicking tricks. ANd last time I checked McCoy wasnt responsible for tackling the TWO 100+ rushers for Bama last night. Bama also exploited a weak offense line last night just as Nebraska did. Bama was clearly superior on both offense and defensive lines and dominated.

...I am so tired of the SEC always winning the NC.

...God, I hate the Smug Ego Conference.

...It's the SEC-worship that I'll have to hear from the media that ticks me off...

..Another year of Smug Ego Conference gloating awaits...

Well, I'm not going to be a sore loser and whine about this...

Congrats Bama fans, although it pained me to see that last night and think what might have been. Oh well, so goes the world of the sports fan. ;)

Four straight years of SEC titles.

Another year of Smug Ego Conference gloating awaits...

Just part of it. Other teams from other conferences can end it at any time.

I rarely gloat, so I wouldnt worry about that. ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!! GO SEC!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry about that:D

"Oh what might have been"

Yeah If Ingram hadnt of gotten injured for part of the game he would have racked up another 100 yards on the flimsy Texas run defense. Its too bad.

Congratulations to Bama.

Msmith, congrats.

I'll be honest- considering that they lost Glen Coffee and Andre Smith before this year, I was a bit skeptical about their title chances.

But they proved to be worthy of carrying on the Bear Bryant legacy of Bama greatness.

P.S. Saban has fulfilled the expectations he had once he arrived there.

Does this mean he's leaving soon ?
