All Ku & C-band Setanta Sports feeds (scrambled/unscrambled on all sats) will be shutting off March 1st 2010, covering the US and Caribbean Area.
Currently on AMC4 (101W) message is scrolling across the bottom of the screen. Looks like they will continue to broadcast in Europe, etc sats.
Dish Network and DirecTV has rights to broadcast however they will only be on their sats. Currently showing on Dish Network (FSC Chl 149)) but not same programming that Setanta is showing until March 1st.

SETANTA SPORTS USA AGREES TO TERMS WITH FOX SOCCER CHANNEL | Setanta

We are the BORG. Resistance is futile.

You will be assimilated and pay too much for overcompressed pizza dish TV.

:censored: :exclamati  :what :down :yikes !protest :shocked

No big loss here as I barely watched that channel anyways

I was hoping it would last until after the World Cup matches in South Africa this summer. :(

I have not seen much advertasing what stations will air the world cup matches as of yet, still 4 months away give or take few weeks, but I'm sure Satmex 5 or 6 will have stations showing the games... If not...we'll just have find them, that's the joy of having the equipment we all have in this hobby.

I don't know anything about Setanta Sports, and don't follow soccer, but I noticed a channel that ID's as Infinito on G23 (3940 DCII) that is ZK. It's now showing a soccer game between Ireland and Scotland, and in the upper right it displays Setanta Sports. Don't know if this is a possible place where Setanta content might be carried or not. If it goes away, check out this channel.

Definetly C-band will be the way to go to look at World Cup Soccer and a subscription to one of the major sat provider.
Another good bet apart from Satmex will be the Intelsat sats that are visible to the US. However they have circular polarization. There are lots of soccer coverage on NSS7 (22W), Hispansat 1C&D (30W), NSS806 (40.5) lots of South American team coverage, including Portugal, Spain, and some European countries, Intelsat 805 (55.5W).
Another good thing to have apart from clear view of the horizon from 22W to 129W will be a multi-receiver like the AZBOX.

Setanta gone already?

Is Setanta gone already? I´m picking up zero Q on that tp @101w. Was watching it Ok this morning. Wasn´t it on till march?

Sorry. Some Q is trying to come back but my pansat can´t lock it. Hope it gets better. Wonder if signal took a dip. My setup hasn´t changed a bit and we´ve had all sun and no wind today.
