Congratulations to the saints for winning sb 44!
Let the new discussion begin.

Mods please sticky this thread.

I am not going to sticky sorry. Wayyyyyyyyy too early.

Indy has been in it 2 of the last three and the Steeler's did the 2 out of three as well, the way I see it .... the Steeler's go back to the SB next year.

The Patriots (4), Steelers (2) or Colts (2) have represented the AFC in 8 of the last 9 Super Bowls..............the 2002 Raiders are the only other AFC team to get to the SB in that time frame.

Indy has a good chance to make it in the playoffs because they have great young receivers.
to me the saints and Vikings are the most complete teams in NFL now. I would have put the chargers up there but their lack of running game is hurting. With Lt leaving it should open up more room in their roster for a good power running back.

Sounds like Marrimon may not be back either.

OK, if I were a betting man (and I'm not), I would guess that the Steeler's , Colts or Pats will be in SB 45 ..... How's that for going out on a limb ! :D

I'm frankly tired of year after year picking the Chargers to go far.

IMO, the team to watch in the AFC next year is the Jets. Their defense is top notch, and one would think Sanchez is only going to get better.

My pats need tons of work on defense and good additions on offense to become a sb team again. Don't forget we won't have welker for a good chunk of the season this upcoming year. Also don't forget Manning and Brady's contract will be up this upcoming year. I can see Brady getting a 4 year deal and Manning a 3 year deal.

People that are picking the steelers are going to be disappointed because they are getting older on defense and their offensive line need to improve or Ben will get rid of the football quicker and possibly mak mistakes...or he can hog the football and get concussions.... I am sure he learned his lesson.
Another team to watch is the Titans, they are getting younger on offense and they can become a really good elite team.

One team to watch this year are the giants, they look good and hopefully their d gets better or their d will be the one losing games for them.

Wish I had the balls to say the Chiefs are going to the playoffs next year, but I bet we turn over another 20-30 players this offseason (after 30 new players joined the team this past season). It really depends on how we do in the draft and FA, and how weak the division is again.

Jets will be scary, Colts are overdue for a decline... unless they can work on their offensive line and defense in the offseason. Patriots are dangerous but need some work. Orton will keep Denver from competing again, and the Chargers have a TON of free agents so hard to even say what team will show up next season.

With them, the Pats, and the Dolphins, the AFC East will be fascinating to follow in 2010 (I'm not too confident in my Bills for 2010, though- we have too many question marks and not a ton of answers)

Nothing like stating the OBVIOUS ....

The Steeler's D has been getting older every year, but they have added some younger guys the last few years, they will be fine.

Troy will be back, thats a positive. They will get the Run Stoppper/ Aaron Smith back ...... both these guys are difference makers and were out for the majority of the year with injuries.

They added Ziggy last year to the Starting D as well as Woodley came into his own.

They SHOULD draft a cornerback or two ......

As for the O line, they've been working on thats for many years.
The O line is the ? mark EVERY year.
They will draft a few linemen as well.

I like the changes my Raiders made and not made in the coaching staff. The Raiders have 8 picks in this years drafts. IF they trade Nnamdi, they will pick up more(something I want and don't want...still torn about doing it). IF they pick up the help needed at DT and OL respectively, I HONESTLY think they will compete for a wildcard this year.

I also think that IF it is true according Adam Schefter, someone who I think is a Raider hater, but a good reporter none the less...that Russell has lost some weight already and is working on his QB skills. He is on his last hurrah....so he better come in in great shape and ready to work. CLEARLY, Cable establish that he will sit his a$$ at the 12st sign that he cannot handle the position.
