This was the Chargers' year. Injuries, sub-par performances (LT, Merriman, Cromartie), and a timid playoff strategy did them in. Next year the Bolts may still win the AFC West, but without fresh talent they won't go far.

I told you.

A day after his reinstatement, he was released by the Browns. It was safe to say he's burned the bridge here.

There HAVE BEEN rumors about Stallworth POSSIBLY coming down here. But if that were true....it would be a TERRIBLE PR move considering that this terrible "accident" happened down here.

Giants have cut defensive captain LB Antonio Pierce, who was scheduled to make $4.5m next year. Pierce was shocked, he said he expected to be in NY for a long time. Some would call this a salary cap move... but with no cap expected for next year... it's a surprising move.

Today is the first day teams can use the franchise tag. Trading period opens 3/5. The Raiders are considering using it on Richard Seymour or Sea Bass. Just listened to a thing about Julius Peppers and it applies to Seymour... the number for a franchised DE is going to be like $22 million this year, up from $18m last year. The Raiders are improving but I am not sure they are so close that a single player should be eating up that much cabbage. He's 31, if he's franchised he's going to sign that right away, just like Peppers will.

The only way the Panthers will own the rights to Peppers on 3/5 is to franchise him first, then they have to find a team willing to not only take Peppers, but a 1 year $22m contract.

LAMO. This is beyond humorous.

Mike Brown's, father, Paul would be rolling in his grave if he saw the direction this organization has taken itself!

Yes, damn them, doing stuff like beating everyone in their division twice and hosting a playoff game with a team full of misfits. Clearly they're doing something right...
