NCAA College Basketball 2009-10 Season

Thats what I thought.

Seems they have been only playing 6 in most games.
Hopefully they have enough stamina built up to go against the other teams in the tournament with only using 6.

That said, they didn't exactly wilt against a defensive Minnesota team ... (only 11 points to Purdue in the first half the other day)
I didn't realize they only play 6. That's quite an accomplishment to win 3 games in a row with no bench. The problem is fouls. You get in foul trouble in a game it could get tough. Syracuse has no bench either and in the last minute against Georgetown they had 3 guys playing with 4 fouls. Who takes the foul then?

6 Deep,7 Deep, 8 Deep. Who cares ? As much as I hate to type this, OSU is definitely a threat to win it all. I am a die hard ACC fan,but have to admit that I was very impressed with the Buckeyes and Turner this weekend. Let's get the seeding underway and may the best team win. GO TERPS !!!!

6 players is what the announcer said on the broadcast , I haven't looked but it would seem to be very difficult to go deep in the tournament that way as you said with fouls to give .....
Then again, you have a lot of guys to put in if they need to foul someone as well :D

Correction:
After looking at the box score, at least 8 players played at least 12 minutes, everyone played as they emptied the bench towards the end.
It could have been only 6 till things got out of hand though.
5 players played 25 or more minutes.

Salsa, how do you see the Cuse doing in the tourney?

I actually see them having the less difficult of all the brackets. Not saying EASY, but the other regionals are stacked! And like I said, it ALL depends on Arinze Onuaku. IF the 'Cuse can get by the 1st round of the tourney without Arinze, he would be rested for the 2nd round. I see no reason they cannot be ATLEAST in the Elite 8.....but I have them winning it all.....:D

We all watch it like hawks. :)

Hell, Anders and I were riveted by the NIT selection show! :)
The race to be #66. Apparantly Carolina's playing their game at Carmichael Auditorium. I guess I'll have to watch now see if we can tap into spirit of Jordan and Phil Ford there.

Now *that* is cool - gotta love the old gyms.

Too bad they renovated the old UConn Fieldhouse - we could shake the dust off of the rafters one more time :)

Surprised nobody mentioned the big white Duke guy (I know, there are about a hundred of them) barrelling over the table into play-by-play announcer Dan Shulman in yesterday's ACC championship game. It was crazy.

Schulman really got hit hard, Dick Vitale is screaming out him taking the charge, and it took a little while for Shulman to get his headphones back on. When Shulman finally saw a replay even he was amazed at what it looked like.

You're not worried in how they finished the season with 2 losses?

I am more worried about the injury than the way they played.

No...the Louisville game meant NOTHING to them. AND litterally every time they have been bounced early in the Big East tourney, they have faired well in the NCAAs.

....oh yeah, the last time they lost in the 1st round of the Big East tourney....they won it all.

....hhhmmmmm.....:D;)

Last year Kentucky played their only home NIT game at old Memorial Coliseum. That was the only good thing about being in the NIT was seeing them play one more time in Memorial.

Utah State update:

New Mexico State had a stretch in the second half, from about the ten minute mark to the two minute mark, where I cannot remember one empty trip. No turnover, no missed shots, nothing. And Utah State was not playing bad defense! New Mexico State shot lights out, and they deserved the victory.

If anyone was watching or has the game recorded, when ESPN returned from the break at I think the under four minute mark, they showed my cuz dancing her little pom-poms off, she was the only one in the picture for a few seconds.

Friday is Texas A&M in Spokane. Hopefully Wild Bill can make the game. When he wasn't there Saturday night (ESPN said something about him being on his way to their studios - not sure if they were serious), I knew it was a bad omen.

I think this game is winnable. Sunday would be a matchup with either Purdue or Siena, Purdue is vulnerable without Hummel and Siena is definitely winnable. Then would come Duke in the Sweet Sixteen. That would be phenomenal.

We've been hearing about Utah St all year. Now they're about to step into the deep water. No more cupcakes.
