Sadoun,

I am begging you. I am really begging you. Please tell the manufacturer of this box to fix just one thing now and I can start using this box. It is on my shelf waiting. That one thing is using a motor and a switch at thesame time.

I am on my knees. Please !! Also there should be a way to select channels by Satellite. e.g like the SAT button on other receivers. This box hasn't and to move from one channel to another, the motor moves to every highlighted satellite.

If these are fixed, then i will shelf my pansat 9200HD which gets really hot! even when off.

get in line ;)

I was talking with Sadoun last week about software updates and here is the point I tried to hammer home

It did not solve the issue of a motor and a switch being used together. This is what is killing a fair amount of us (me included). I dont get why they cant fix it so when you use a motor you can use a diseqc or even a 22k switch with it. When you select motor, you are basically cut off from doing anything with the antenna settings. I have a 4x4 multiswitch for KU & DBS and I cant use DBS to scan for any freebies.

I havent seen a receiver do that (nuke the switch when selecting motor) since my old Satworks 3618/3688 and that was 6 years ago

Ice, Maybe I'm confused. With my Fortec Dynamic I can....for example set 72 West KU on my 30" with the SG2100 motor, using Disecq and a 4x1 switch. Lets say port 1 in the receiver and on the switch. The 72W Cband I set at Port 2 on switch and port 2 on receiver also. The cband I don't run thru receiver I run the line from the G box to Cband acuator. The only time I worried about 22Khz was when I had to hook in more than four dishes. Basically I only need the ability to have the Sathawk allow me to set each individual satellite, for either fixed or motorized. Maybe I misunderstood what was posted? Blind

The problem with the Sathawk is one of the menus gives you these 2 options
Fixed Dish
Motorized Dish

If you select fixed dish then you have the ability to utilize all the menus for setting up a LNB/diseqc/22k etc. When you select motorized and go back into that same screen you only get to select the LNB type for all LNB's and can select the motor functions. The screen with the LNB LO's and switch matrix is gone. So you have no way of changing anything

maybe this will make it clearer

1st screen you see is "antenna connection". When you select that you can either do a fixed setup or a motor

if you do a fixed setup then the antenna setup gives you this option

wow that bad huh,

but if you say motor then you are severely limited. You can only select one LNB LO for all the sats you want to setup

no problem :)

I know its been said in a few posts about the issue but I guess pics drive home any confusion out there

Well, am I making a mistake by ordering this?

I'll be using a QPH-031 on a motorized dish - I won't have to use the 22kHz switch, but I will have to change voltages to the LNB to change from vertical to horizontal...

I'm looking for a true HD FTA receiver that will do Blind Scan; I was hoping the ethernet connection would let me stream video from a computer, but it doesn't look like that will happen either.

Sadoun still hasn't shipped the ones that were supposed to have shipped 3/31, so I guess I can still cancel....

The good news is that by the time mine finally ships, all the bugs will have been fixed.

The bad news is that by then everyone will be watching 4-dimensional time-warp TV via a chip implanted directly in their brain.

Sigh.

Ice and everyone....I have my Dynamic and my Sathawk looped together. My Gbox is a standalone box straight to my Cband dish with its Geosat C/KU lnb on it. If I want say 97w Ku, I turn on the Dynamic and have my sg2100 move my 30" dish to 97W. Then I turn off the Dynamic and turn on the Sathawk and go to 97W and I'm good. Kind of a pain but it works. The KU side of the Cband dish is ok but misses some stuff so I have to use the two dishes. Hopefully the bugs can be fixed as this receiver could be a good one..I guess Blind:)

HOPE THIS HELPS YE OUT....

USER MANUAL FOR SATHAWK/SOLOMEND....hope this is of use to ye...

Okay, here's my take on my new SatHawk receiver.:) It's a great DX sat receiver so far, but need some improvments in some areas.

Pro: Fast DX scanning, handles MPEG-2 and 4 with SD, HD video formats.

Cons: Can't handle narrow band digital video feeds below 2.5 MBs bitrates, No U.S.'s Close Captions system, just only Europe subtitling is being used on this receiver. No 4:2:2 video formats and would be nice to have turbo 8PSK mode to be added.

I hope it's can resolve some of the problems that can be fixed by USB downloads.

not really. It works great for DVB-S2 but there isnt that much S2 on KU so its kinda moot. I can use the Coolsat 5000 to blind scan. Did find a lot of S2 on C-band but my dish is normally fixed :)

Am patiently waiting for the new firmware Sadoun promised last week. This receiver has a lot of potential with great blindscan. But my setups need motor and diseqc switches.
