Not Really, I think he just likes to set the record straight because there are ppl here whom thinks Charlie walks on water.
Really? where? I couldnt find any good charlie comments ....
Everyones situation is unique,, but I seriously doubt the leaving in droves thing.
last month I had to jump through hoops for three days just to get someone to say I needed a repoint to easter arc, so I get the frustration, but if they're going to do all these 'improvements', then it should be their responsibility to inform subs of it.
And for the record, my first setup was a 2700 in I think 1998?

2nd quarter DISH results coming August 9th I see . Then we will see if people are really leaving in droves.

thru june? I cancelled in july and the loyalty credits are running out about now, so the big dip may only show up in 3rd quarter results........

by that time charlie will likely have a buyer lined up....

The big dip didn't happen at the beginning of the year like some said, and won't happen this time, either. I think the majority of the people who have receivers decorating every room of their house post on here.

Bob, if you keep saying that a company is being prepped for sale over the course of years, eventually it may be sold. That doesn't mean that your original prediction was correct. How long have you been saying Charlie is prepping to sell Dish? I'm not saying it won't happen, but back up your statement with facts, dint just keep throwing it out there.

This is what misinformed wannabes generally do, eventually of course they will get sold and he will be vindicated for spouting nonsense.

Would you sell a company you created?Charlie has seen good times and bad times.
I don't see him selling nothing in the near future and your wishful thinking won't help either.;)

Why would Charlie want to sell. He is still making a good living, providing a service we (almost) all appreciate and tweaking the others.

You know in all this talk of leaving Dish for Direct, I have noticed that same are all a-Twitter about picking up all the sports. I can understand that, but I have some reasons for not leaving.

1. More movie channels by far, especially In HD when you include the excellent ones in HD platinum.

2. In my case, I would need 3 HDDVRs to accomplish what I do with just 2. MRV just wouldn't be of much value in my case.

3. Direct's Premiere is much more expensive than Dish's Everything pack. Yes, D's does include more sports with theirs, but that can be duplicated well enough with just adding E's multisports for the few months that the football season is on.

It's not the college football fans upset (although we would like ESPN U in HD). It's the baseball nuts that complain. IMHO, if you're a major league baseball fan and still on Dish, that's your fault.

I, personally, don't care about baseball. However, I would like to see Dish fill in the missing Showtime/TMC (and Cinemax once their penny deal expires) HD East Coast channels. There's no excuse for that.
