Charlie Chat Monday

People, it's really simple. The chat would be about:
1- The Disney HD channels are coming back.
2. ESPNU HD will come to Dish, watch Wednesday uplink report.
3. No more Charlie-Chats or Tech talks will be devoted to hour long commercials, but to address legitimate concerns from customers.
3. Multiroom extender is coming at last. Free for all SatelliteGuys ever-so-patient members.
4. Dish remote access will be available to all machines with EHD, including 211s.
5. Effective Wednesday, all subscribers in AK, HI and PR will have the same numbers of HD channels available as the rest of CONUS. Every new HD channel will be available to all, it will be a "Dish-for-life" guarantee.

This concludes this week's episode of the Twilight Zone. Thanks for watching. :D

And, no, I am not crazy. I did not include anything about Voom. :haha

you forgot my favorite.

For those who bought their secondary receivers the extra receiver admin fee is 3 bucks each, leased its 5 bucks including 722s. DVR fees can be paid monthly 5 bucks or a lifetime 100 bucks.

No packages will ever be zapped in the future.:)

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Here's what's really sad:

A. You think you're funny.

B. You think anybody cares.

You dont like being reminded of the E screw up, because it likely effects you fiancially.......

after all I replied to someone with a dream liist of positive twilight zone changes.

When E losses 150,000 subs this quarter you can get mad at sky reports for annoucing it

Think so

Not so far. Why do you think it will be that large? If it is maybe then they will do so readjustment.

I can certainly understand why those that got hit with increased equipment fees feel a little hostile. Charlie & Co. over the years have done a couple of things that irked me, KOMO missising for 6 months being one. Losing the ability to offer distants another. However, with the latter it didn't take him very long to find a work-around. Astute! It use to be that "the other guys" always added the HD feed 1st. Not any more. It use to be that "the other guys" never lost a channel because of $$$...then VS. Now disputes with locals...seems like they learned something from ole' Charlie. Few thought DISH would see AMCHD because of the Rainbow connection. Surprise! I'm rather confident that when the space allows we'll see full-time HD rsn's. Then what will "the other guys" have to puff about.

the fee jacking came with loyalty credits that are ending now. So subs go shopping and find that bundling packages of TV and internet, are cheaper than just TV from E.

perhaps E KNOWS its lost the TIVO lawsuit and is attempting to milk its best subs to pay for the costs?

profit is good but not when it dramatically raises churn and costs the company 700 bucks aquisition cost for 750,00 subs

$5.2500000.00.

despite marketing company lost 19,000 subs........

the beancounter suits at E claim the fee jacking loss is over.

well guess what all those departing subs each tell 10 friends about the rip off and E now has a diss advertising campaign running of 7,500000 trashing E.

thats just peachie for dealers and direct sales wouldnt it make it easier to sell new subs?.

and while fee jacking really hit me it effects anyone after the first receiver. perhaps E forgets extended families, kids and the economy which has made it more likely that family size has grown while $$$ is tough....

E bad idea and worst possible tiime

For all the your complaining, I suspect that most subs have 2 or less receivers and have a bill that is less than it would be for similar channel lineups on other services, after the promo discounts expire. So I'm not sure what will show in the next quarterly reports and neither do you.

But I know that you said you went to Comcast. So why not go over to a discussion on Comcast? What E* does or doesn't do, doesn't affect you at all anymore.

Because he thinks he's the Ralph Nader of the pay TV world.;)

The industry is of interest to me forever:)

and if there isnt bleeding sub losses the fee jacking will be coming to all other providers:(

Wouldnt matter who you have as a provider:(

I haven't watched a Charlie chat since 2006 and only tuned in as I was hoping to hear more about the coveted "local on the 8's" feature that was to be rolled out immediately.

Maybe I should have paid better attention, as I never did figure out where it is hidden in the menu system and I've been looking for 4 years! ;)

He can't he wants to come back.He loves Dish network!.Come back Bobs we know you want to,we''ll leave the light on for you.;):D

Charlies beancounters greed not only turned off the light, it demoed the porch the light was on...

whatever the future brings me it wouldnt be E!

Well at least the Concert won't be boring. Wonder what CC is about? Telling us about Absolute going away & how wonderful it will be to go to a package that has a crap load of SD in it? That it's the only way that the A-hole providers will let him carry the HD along w/ their crappy SD stuff that stinks.

BTY, latest scuttlebutt (from the OP who started it all) is that HD Absolute is NOT going away.

Dish DID make the calls to select subs, but the policy on grandfathering is evidently still enforce, if you do not change package, you can keep HD Absolute.

Let's wait and see.
