Hi all, am I the only one that will still read Bob's posts? Seems to me you guys are being a little hard on him. He is listed as a supporting founder and I have not read any posts from him that rubbed me. I find them amusing.

I used to feel that way and even talked to him via PM's in the past. But his constant harping on the same old shi* has finally gotten to me. I just couldn't take it anymore. He left E* a couple of months ago and is still saying the same thing he was saying before he left. I don't feel that his hijacking threads to beat a dead horse is doing people a service anymore.
 
I wouldn't give "supporting founder" a lot of credence. There were some remarkable things made known about that several years ago...;)

Lately I would rather listen to the fingernails. Howler has just gotten to be the most painful repetitious self serving person on the forum lately. He thinks that he is giving people facts but is just showing how vindictive he is. He isn't helping people with problems but just keeps venting the same old shi* and it has become a broken record. Bob it just isn't doing any good anymore to keep saying the same things a million times. Only a loss of customers will make any difference. Just go to the cable forums and be happy that you no longer pay money to E*.
 
we'll see how he feels when his Tivo craps out. Mine did, and it was only 6 months old. Since it was out of the 90 day free labor coverage of this $300 box, they wanted me to ship it and pay $49.95 for repair. I fought with them about it, and finally got a supervisor to waive the $49.95 fee. I still had to pay the ~$20 to send it back. A few days later, I get a REFURB.

Since it was out of the 90 day free labor coverage of this $300 box, they wanted me to ship it and pay $49.95 for repair. I fought with them about it, and finally got a supervisor to waive the $49.95 fee. I still had to pay the ~$20 to send it back. A few days later, I get a REFURB.

That would be real funny. When it happens someone will have to tell me since I have Howler on ignore now.

Any DVR can crap out...including Dish Networks. Even new boxes can have a hard drive that is the '1 in a 100' that flakes out early. I've owned TIVOs where the hard drive has lasted 3+ years.

ostrich syndrome does not apply. the TivoHD is notorious for drive failure and and not in the 1 in 100 phenomenon. Well, maybe it is, if you get a good one! the new premier is following in its footsteps. just check out the tivo community forum. you can even read up on the severe software bugs. i really like the tivoHD and its features, but it is not as reliable as the 722.

I have a series1 that still proves to be bullet-proof after 10 years. But geez, 90 day warranty on a $200-$300 box....

E system called saying my refund is being processed and should post to my card soon

I wish they would have kept your money if only for the Gods thumbing you down for being the PITA you are in this forum.
 
its said within 5 to 7 days i think, i was dozing when the call came in.

if i were E management i wouldnt want anyone here ranting about not getting a refund and E in the past had assigned employees to watch the boards......
