They still have the playoff game unless both teams are going to be in the playoffs regardless. Like the case of the Rays and Yankees, if they tied then they would go on head-to-head for the division winner, because the extra game would be useless since both would be in the playoffs anyway.

That's where I was off. With the Twins the last two tears, 163 was needed to get into the playoffs. Thanks, Ramy.

Great Call Ramy

Do you remember this ?

There is a little over a month until the spring training starts. I really like the look of the Reds, just wish they had picked up one more decent starting pitcher.

On to the Playoffs !!!!

Both the Phillies and Reds magic number stands at 1.

Also, the Giants again flip-flopped with the Padres and are in first place again.

The Rays lose today and lead the Yankees by 1 game.

I told everybody to watch out for the Reds because they had the best record over the last month and half last year.

Phils just clinched

With that dominate shutout performance by Halladay, I think he may have clinched the Cy Young as well

Looks like the Reds are close to clinching on their day off, as the Cards are losing

Yankees and Rays both lose, and Red Sox win.

NY and TB will have to wait at least another day to clinch a playoff berth.

Cardinals stay alive for another day by coming back against the Pirates.

Staving off the inevitable, or possibly setting themselves off for a miracle finish?

If the Red Sox win their last six games, and if Tampa Bay loses their last six, or if the Yankees lose their last five, then the Red Sox get to have a playoff game. According to however ESPN figures it, the Red Sox's chances improved last night from 0.1% to 0.2%. But if the Red Sox do sweep Chicago and if the Yankees do lose their next two, then the Red Sox possibility of tying the Yankees will become one out of eight permutations, because, as they will be playing the Yankees head to head, each Red Sox win at the end of the season will also result in a Yankees loss. Still, it doesn't look good for the Red Sox.

Reds clinch the NL Central with a Jay Bruce walk off HR. As a Reds fan you couldn't have had a better clinching win than that. First time in 15 years the Reds have made the post season. Even if it's a short stay its been worth it to have seen competitve baseball once in again in Cincinnati.

You know, those guys are scrappy and having fun. They may surprise everyone. :up :)

If the Giants, Padres and Braves all finish with the same record after Sunday's games, I know the Giants would play the tie-breaker game against the Padres on Monday in SD for the NL west title. But what about the NL wild card game? Would the loser of that game play the Braves for the NL wild card? And when and where would that tie-breaker game be played? Or since the 2nd place NL west team would now have a extra loss because of the tie-breaker this game is never played and the Braves are in the playoffs.
