I currently have a dish 500 and I am getting a dish 1000.2 to get my local stations off of sat.129. Can any body tell me what else I might need to get this switch over done? I have a DVR model 6125 receiver hooked up to 2 rooms. What will be the easiest way to tune it in once I have it hooked up.

I just recently did something to what you are doing, only my receiver was a new 211K. The check switch is a function you will see when you go to the "aim dish" screen. If you get some weird responses after running the check switch, you need to clear out the receiver's Dish 500 settings. Just do the check switch with the cable disconnected and then do a reset to your receiver. Then do another check switch and once you get the dish properly aimed, you should be good to go.

To do a checks switch test you would; Press menu, then 6-1-1 (system setup-installation-point dish), select check switch on the right side, then test at the bottom. What this does is communicates with the equipment outside to see what signals you are/are not receiving.

OK I just got my Dish 1000.2 antenna (says Turbo HD on it) the LNBF has 4 ports marked 1,2,3 & LINE-IN. my old Dish 500 has 2 one for 110 one for119 running from antenna to a splitter then one cable to the receiver. so how many cables do I need to run for the 1000.2 antenna and which port or ports do I use? If I run 3 cables what kind of splitter/switch am I going to need any help would be great!
THANKS

No switch necessary. The switch is built in to the 1000.2 already. 1 cable to each receiver. For any dual tuner receivers you need a DPP separator right before the receiver to split the 1 cable into two so that you have a cable for each input on the receiver. As far as ports, use 1, 2, or 3. The 4th is to add a wing dish (to receive signal from a 4th satellite if necessary - for most installs this is not used).

Alright thanks for the info I'm going to try to get it done tomorrow way to windy today. On the point dish menu should the dish system be on Super, 500 or 300. and does it matter what the tuner input, transponder, and sat. are on. I heard to cover the outer 2 lnbs and just tune in the 119 to make it easier to find a signal at first.

If you have a digital satellite meter then you can usually use any of ports 1, 2 or 3. You can tell which sat you are finding by putting your hand in fornt of the LNB to see if signal drops. Course what you want is for 119 to be receiving from the 119 LNB(the one in the middle). Then run the check switch, the box will figure it out. Good Luck
