I know this has been a topic in the past, but I was wondering if any of the new Dish employees could shed any light or at least put in a word for us.

Over a year ago, I dropped the French Bouquet when Dish decided to drop the yearly pricing and go with the month to month charge for the internationals. I believe at the same time, Dish dropped EuroNews a la carte and only offered that with a European international package. It was previously offered for around $2 a la carte. I did enjoy tuning into EuroNews from time to time, but there is no way I'm going to subscribe to any package for just the one channel that I want to view. I'd pay the $2 for the channel, but not much more. Is there any news, or can the Dish people put in a word for us to get EuroNews back a la carte? I believe that there are others on this forum that would like that too. I know for me it would be a simple addition since I'm already pointed at 118.7 and 61.5. Any new information or a word to Dish would be appreciated!

Dish Network has added Euro News to an International Basic Pack which runs $10.00 a month. We are currently making changes to accounts with international packages when any other changes are made, to include this package. We are working to improve the international packages, and channel selections. We may have more info after 2/1. I hope this helps.

Now if those channels would be on something other than 118 I might be interested....
They are coming from numerous satellites, it does differ by channel but I have 72.7, 119, 77, 110, & 118. Currently has 20 channels listed but they may not all be available in all Sat configurations.

If he's dropped French bouquet, wouldn't he not qualify for international basic?

Well then, it doesn't address the original poster's desire to get EuroNews without subscribing to an expensive foreign-language package!

Thank you Jim S. for having some common sense, this is exactly the type of response that I got some time ago while on a chat with a Dish CSR. At that time the CSR tried to sell me on a Portuguese package in order to get EuroNews. With respect to MaryB's reply, I am NOT looking for a basic or a base pak, just EuroNews a la carte, it use to be offered a la carte once upon a time and I think that is what several of us would like to have offered once again. If EuroNews is indeed offered on all the satellite locations that she stated, then there shouldn't be any problem to offer that a la carte since there shouldn't be a need to do a satellite upgrade for customers wanting just EuroNews. I'm not sure what internationals MaryB was referring to, but according to the list, EuroNews is only available on 61.5 and 118.7.

I do apologize for the confusion around my posts. The International Basic Pack is new and will be changing shortly, after receiving that additional information, I could not make my original recommendation. The Satellites I listed are for all the channels in the package, so availablitiy of individual channels depends on Satellite configuration. As per my original post, We are working to improve the international packages, and channel selections. We may have more info after 2/1. I hope to have more information in the near future, when the changes have been finalized.

MaryB, could you put in a request that EuroNews be offered a la carte once again for $2? It is an interesting channel with a different perspective than all the American news channels that are in the mainstream packages.

I did actually do that per your original post and I will send direct message to you as soon as I can!!

Thank you! I'm sure you can only "pass along" the information and requests from here, but I hope the the execs in charge of programming take the requests seriously. I know there were others in the past that were interested as well.

Mary, since you guys are reworking some of the international programming, could you please put in a request for me to bring back sat1prosiebenwelt as al a carte? It was available for quite a while without having to sign up for the $30 German language package.

If you have an OTA antenna, check the subchannels on your local PBS channel. All 3 of the ones I can receive here in the LA area recently started carrying international news segments via a service called Mhz Worldview. One of the segments they carry throughout the day is from Euronews. They also carry news from RT, DW, and others. It is kind of like World Radio Network for TV.

But certainly not every PBS channel carries MHz Worldview. The two local ones both only carry Create and PBS World.

Don't get me started on MHz Worldview and how they betrayed their satellite viewers...

That would be fine if I lived closer to receive the PBS station OTA. When I did live close to a PBS station, they did not carry that service anyway.

What channels are included on International Basic Package? Any international channels included??????

I have put a request in for this channel and I will update on this as well on 2-1!
