The perfect explination of the NFL owners greedy in this labor dispute...

If an agreement is not reached by the Friday that is what the player union will do. This is the big club the player union has. If they decerify then the draft becomes illegal. This will allow the top players from the college rates go with the the team that bid the highest for their services.
That's just absolutely not true. There will be a draft, decertification or not. The drafted players can't sign with their new teams until there is a new CBA in place, whenever that is. Andrew Luck doesn't look like he made a bad decision to stay another year now...

Also if the union decerify it will allow the UFL an opportunity to grab some current NFL stars. I do believe their will be an agreement in place this friday.the agreement will have 18 regular season game and a rookie salary cap. The players will get better benfits with a lower piece of the pie. The owners on the other hand will have to proof to the players association that the extra revnue they get will go to better stadiums etc.

This is what I believe will happen.
The UFL can't even pay most of its creditors from last year. They are not even being mentioned as any kind of fallback for the NFL players. Hell, Eric Mangini is still trying to get an NFL assistant gig instead of a head coach position at Hartford's UFL team, Mangini's hometown....

I Don't see 18 games becoming a reality, I think it was a ploy for bargaining ...

Why? The owners are getting the biggest television contracts in history. Look at what Directv and Espn pay the NFL alone. The highest ticket sales tax breaks etc.. etc.. Not all players get paid millions.. The players are not asking for more money they are asking why a pay cut and more games?

Exactly! And that is what most people just REFUSE to see. The Players have not demanded anything except, PROVE that the owners are losing money. Nothing else. The Players were even willing to drop down to 50-50 split in revenue...and the owners STILL wanted more.

The "average" player lasts 5 seasons in the NFL. @ $250,000 a season thats 1.25 million + they have the rest of their lives to work at another vocation. And people wonder why there is no sympathy for the players union.......

I heard an interesting bit of discussion this morning.
They were talking about the fight they are currently in and pointed out that the Owners signed an agreement LAST time, the players were OK with it and agreed, the players are not asking for any more, why cant the Owners agree to the SAME one they agreed to last time ?

Of course there needs to be a FEW changes, a Rookie wage scale to be a top priority, thus allowing more money to go to the retirees (this is where I see some of it going to eventually, and I agree with that) Jerry Kramer, you all remember him, was on Mike and MIKE the other day and said he gets $ 450 a month to live on, thats it, $ 450 .... I get more than that if I retired today from my job 10 years early.

THAT is what I have been arguing from day one! People think the players want MORE...and that is not the case.

Lets see, you take about 45% of that off the top for government taxes and consider what medical bills are for any injuries they've accumulated.
Then see my other post about what Jerry Kramer gets a month and tell me you side with the Owners.
