I also have a chance now to test some new LNBs in C and Ku bands. :) Please suggest guys, what are currently the weakest & hard to get C-band sats & channels on a Prime Focus Six Footer - the channels that are at the same time desirable or interesting to receive? Including feeds?

What about the weakest interesting sats & channels and feeds in Ku-band, hard to get on a 39"+ Offset Dish? Will post some reports, when testing is done. :)

Zamar, Well when I had my 6 footer....The Honduras or Dominican Rep stuff on the Cband SatMex birds were tough. Also Imaginasian on 103W. The RTV Mux on 87W. That's all that come to mind..Blind

Thanks Blind,

So, after installing your 8-footer, what extra sats & channels or feeds your able to get compare to 6-footer? Where you aiming to receive particular signals, or it was done just for fan and challenge of mastering this complex stuff on your own? How did you justified doing this to your wife? :)

Thanks Scott,

The List is truly great info source, I appreciate you guys updating it regularly. :deal: But, unless I miss something, it doesn't show dish size required to receive C-band signals from each sat listed. Now, it may be a good idea to add such info, though I realize, its available from satellite footprint maps - which one would you recommend? Yet the maps at times don't match real life reception experiences, so I'm just trying to figure out, what would be the advantage in terms of extra channels of moving to a larger dish, and if the same can be accomplished by other means, like choosing a better LNB and such. :)

Posting a list like that would be hard as in some areas a 6 foot dish would work while in other areas that 6 foot dish won't work.

Go for the biggest dish you can afford. The bigger the better. :)

Thats the best advice I can give if your looking to get into C Band especially with all the S2 stuff. :D

Zamar, I now get about everything except the RTV Mux. I've had it a few times but usually it won't lock in. I told the wife I was going from five dishes down to three which I did. I got a deal on the 8 foot panels for $75 and switched the six foot to eight foot. I may have tree issues with 87W. Nasa is fine and @sports and so on just RTV is the problem. I agree that if someone can start with a 10 footer thats the way to go...Blind
