Will that be 3G or a 4G phone? All the "rumours" claim it will be a 3G phone but that would be stupid...

The latest question now is whether the iphone 5 will be out in mid summer of alter in the Fall due to an unknown future supply source from Japan. No real hard answers that I have seen. China was testing an iphone with CDMA, EVDO, and LTE for both Chinese and US markets but as stated, we've had a huge game changer now with the tsunami disrupting some of the iphone parts supply.

I think if you want iphone, get a 4 now with 3G. If you want LTE get an Android. If you want HSPA+ get an Android on AT&T. I bought a Thunderbolt and I'm very happy with the speed. I can work on it just as fast as my Comcast Cable modem.

:up:up

I'd expect the fall, or possibly even 2012 if parts are hard to come by. I'm sure they'll move mountains to get it out by Xmas.

I think the iPhone 5 will be 3G or 3.5G(HSPA+). My beliefs is Apple doesn't want to go backwards on battery life so LTE is not wise at this point. After testing drive an iPhone 4 for 3 weeks, I went to the Atrix. After using Android for so long its openness makes it hard. The iPhone is nice but has limitations in the OS that people like to use such as Setting Ringtones and Call Filtering. Call Filtering isnt available without jailbreaking and ringtones being done with iTunes in is a P.I.T.A.

I would say it is the fall before iPhone 5 hits the market. It will go with the launch of iOS5.

An on/off switch like this can be used

If it were to come out in June I would doubt that it would have LTE, if it is coming in June they pretty much have to start manufacturing it now. AT&T will not have their network turned on until the end of the year. They would want low power LTE chipsets tested against both AT&T and VZ. If were planned for fall, then perhaps, but then I still have doubts.

The iPhone 4 has a good battery life. I had trouble with the 3GS making it through the day. It is very rare for me to get to low battery on the iPhone 4. Apple loves to tout their long battery lifes.

My AT&T contract is up in June. I will probably be switching to Verizon and keeping the iPhone. Slow network is better than no network and battery life is more important than speed of a network on my cell phone.

and no dropped calls are important too.:)

I have the IPhone 3GS. I will be getting an iPhone 4 with Verizon.:)
better off getting an android on Verizon..Some of the features that are availbile for the ATT IPHONE or not availible or cost money in the Verizon version (which is part of the reason sales are so slow) i.e u cant talk and surf at the same time on the verizon network

The only thing that I've heard that is not available on the Verizon iPhone is the talk and surf. Never used it. Maybe because there is no AT&T 3G in my area!! What other features are not the same on the two different networks iPhone?

they both have the antenna issue :)
and less calls ae dropped with vzw :)

Hmm it can't be the chips since the same dual core A5 found in the iPad2 will be included. It may be the ips display made by LG that could be the hold up.

Can you talk and surf at the same time on an android on Verizon?

oh, the vzw iphone does have the same radio chip as the droid2 global, its capable of hspa+, its just not turned on, just as an fyi

with most phones on vzw you cannot do this. the only phone i have heard of that can is the thunderbolt, its a cdma thing
i beielve the 4g phones use the 4g for data and the cdma for voice to accomplish it
