Which is better?

I'm ready to buy a vbox, but I'm not sure which one is better (in terms of reliability and performance). Thanks.

I had the same dilemma but I went ahead with the X. I think the X is a newer version so hopefully it is better in some way.

Enlighten me Please.
As far as I know there is a Vbox 3000. There is no Vbox X, Vbox 4000, Vbox 5000, Vbox 6000
or Vbox 7000. I got my info from Sadoun's site. Please explain.
I need a Vbox that does more than just push the dish.

I never heard of a V-box 3000? and the op never asked about all those random numbers you posted? I see both the v-box 7 and X online.

As mentioned by another poster, there is a G Box 3000 and there is a V Box X. There's also some older V Box x models out there but why would anyone buy an older model when the V Box X is the newest one out?

I've got 2 V Box X controllers installed on two systems here now and have no complaints with either however there are some "issues" related to some receivers that don't play nice with Diseq and EITHER a G or V Box.

As another poster said, tell us what you are looking for a V Box X to do and maybe we can tell you if it can be done.

Ok, I stand corrected.
I thought the Vbox series was an older version of the Gbox that Sadoun carries.
I need something that will push my dish and control the polarity of my
Chapparrel Corotor II Plus. The Gbox does not do this.
When my Uniden pusher or the remote goes bellyup I will have to do
something.
Would someone give particulars on the V series so that I can do some
research Please.

Found what i have read the G-box counts twice the amount of pulses vs the V-box making it more sensitive and accurate.I have had both but cant say that i have noticed much difference in the performance.I use the v-box 7 now which hasn't given me any headaches in the last year.

Hi Stanley,
But will the Vbox control the polarity of a chaparral corotor II plus?
The Gbox doesn't.
Where can I go to read up or order this latest Vbox????

As i see it now! There isnt a v or g-box on the market now that will control the polarity.Might be one in the commercial sector but im sure it wouldnt be cheap.I bought my v-box at Galaxy marketing.

Hi Stanley,
Looks like I'm out of luck. The chaparral is to good of a feed to discard
for one of the harder to align ones. I have heard that there are a few of the
older Pansats that will control the polarity. More money for something
that might or might not work. Ebay sometimes has the older receivers
but you don't know what you are getting or if the remotes will work with it.

Shankle I agree with stanleyjohn. I have a Vbox. I had a Uniden which moved the dish as well as the polarity. When it gave up the ghost I went with the V-Box but it could only move the not the polarity. I had to get a new LBN as well

Hi Bill,
I have to much money tied up in the Chaparral and lnbs and they are almost new.
I have heard that some of the old Pansats can be used to control the polarity.
Then there is Ebay where I might pick up an old receiver.
Th Vboxes/Gboxes are out of the picture.

shankle, you do understand that the "old Pansats" (I believe the Model 3500 is one of them) will NOT move your dish? They will control polarity on a servo-controlled feed though.

Here is another option you might consider:

Nextwave Satellite Dish Receiver IRD C-BAND NEW KU | eBay

I haven't used one of those but I think some of the members here have, maybe they can give you a review if you are interested.

Hi Phlatwood,
Thanks for your response.
Yes I am aware that the Pansat will not move the dish and would only
control the polarity. Which means I will have a jury rigged setup.
Pansat for polarity and v/g box to move the dish.
I'm absolutely not going to mess with a working dish unless a hurricane
tears it up. I spent 8 months of utter agony getting this one set up.

I started this thread with a specific question about the V-Box x versus V-Box 7, as I noticed they're different models made by different manufactures. The thread was taken to a different direction, and ended up discussing something entirely irrelevant to this thread. Could we please go back to the original question? Thanks all.

I have a V-box x, picked it up not long ago, bad thing is I have no other v-box to compare it to, and I have not even tested it out yet as I will be using it this summer when I realign my dish, it was all that was available when I went to buy one. I have not read much about the v-box 7 but there are lots of post about the v-box x and most seem to be happy with it.

I found a V-Box V in my basement that I bought a long time ago and forgot about!

Anyone know how this compares to the 7 or X???

I was looking at buying a X when I stumbled into this V.

All these things do is move a dish and save the positions. I tell mine where to go, and it goes-every time, hitting all the birds out there in the arc that I can see, without requiring a dish mover that's "more accurate". How much more accurate does a mover really need to be?
