Have SL3 pig-wnc LNB connectex to Slimline dish. Running cable straight from Lnb to H20 reciever. Cannot Find signal anywhere. Do I need any components between dish and receiver to make it read. Setup dish settings according to zip code still nothing. Trying to setup travel trailer to receive hd. What am I doing wrong?

Welcome to the Site !

How is the dish set up ?
Tripod ?
Make sure it's plumb, this is critical.
Get your co ordinates from the recvr or Dishpointer
Use a everyday ordinary compass.

The co ordinates are a starting point.
Look for the 101 Sat first

Make adjustments slowly.

Did you practice at home first ?

On tripod. Verified it being level. Got coordinates. Azimith is the direction on the compass right? Does this dish require a power inserter? Is there anything needed between the dish LNB and the reciever? If I was aimed in the right direcfion, what would block the signal? Thanks Jimbo for replying.

Jimbo gave you the best advice for starting out, plumb mast, double check your azimuth and elevations, use a compass, and look for 101 first, then find 99 and 103. Go slowly! Oh, and
:welcome to Satelliteguys!

Do you have the B-band converter hooked up?

If he doesn't have the BBC's hooked up, he still would get signal on the 101, thats where you want to start.

If your using a SL3, Slimline 3, and NOT a SWM, then theres nothing else you need to get a signal, IF it is a SWM then you need a Power Inserter.

Sorry for delay in getting back.. football game.
Bbc NOT hooked up. I am not exactly sure what dish I have. I got a new Slimline reflector and a used SL3pig-wcm single eye LNB with 4 outlet connectors. Is that a SWM?

No, you have a regular lnb. A swm lnb only has one output, and would be connected to a splitter and has a power inserter.

You will need B Band Converter(s) on each hd receiver. A HD (non dvr) receiver will require one BBC. A HD dvr will require two BBC's, one on each sat. input. Standard def. receivers and standard def. DVR's don't use BBC's. The only exception would be a R22.

The BBC will have to be connected in order to properly align the dish and receive hd.

If you don't put on the BBC converters you can STILL get signal off the 101 satellite just fine. You need the BBC for HD. Move the dish east and west a bit at a time. Move, wait, move, wait. It takes a few seconds for the signal meter to respond to incoming signal. Move a tiny bit at a time. No signal, raise or lower the elevation 1 degree and try again. Good luck.
