Purchased a 2nd 21.0 IR/UHF Pro. Can't get it to work as Remote 1. Have pressed the Info Select Button, then Record, but it always changes the Info screen to "Remote 2" and stays as an IR. Should I change something to show it is an IR/UHF. Thx. Forestwood

Raymond, Thanks for the Reply. I tried the Dish website, but I cannot get the 722 to recognize the new 21.0 IR/UHF as Remote #1. It always goes to #2, and then the original IR only remote will not work. Any ideas? Forestwood

Did the turn the key over so that "1" was showing instead of "2"? (Items 3 and 4 on page 2)

joegr is correct, the 21.0 has a plastic key on the bottom of the remote that has a green number 1 or a blue number 2. When the blue side is face up the remote will function through a UHF frequency. The green side up will funtion through IR. You would need to remove the battery cover in order to pull the plastic key out.

Thanks everyone. I thought the plastic "1" "2" clip at the bottom was just for identification and didn't serve any real purpose. With that change and reprogramming of the remote all is working well. Very Helpful Forum. Forestwood

You are correct about the plastic clip serving only as an identifier. There is a small toggle switch inside the battery compartment of the 21.0 to switch from IR to IR/UHF. Ray was apparently thinking of the older 6.3 remotes that switched via the plastic keys.

Dont ya have to do both? Swap key and hit switch?

Example, tv1 in uhf: green side of key, switch set to uhf.

For the 21.0, you do need to have the key/tab facing the correct way. If the "2" is facing out, it will only program to TV2's address. It does need to have the "1" facing out to program to TV1.
