For all the Michiganders out there you are aware of the great weather we have had for several days. Record breaking temperatures this time of the year is great. Tuesday the 11[SUP]th[/SUP], I took the opportunity to drive up to Traverse City and meet with Pixl (Jim) at his house. Jim offered me several dishes because he was trimming down his farm. Found his place without any problem. Found Jim and his nice doggie Sophie. Not sure of the spelling, it is close. If you remember the post this summer with Jim and doggie in his pool, you know what I a nice doggie she is. I sure could never get my cat to lay on a raft in a pool with me! I had a great time with Jim at his house and looking over his equipment. Nice large open back yard for a great line of dishes. Had a great time with the two of them on such a great day. Many thanks to Jim for such a nice pile of dishes.
The picture below is my increasing farm. Two of the dishes are only in place for the picture. I only have one of the four I received up yet. Before anyone states, “Oh NO, not on wooden posts.” The one post that looks new has been there about 6 months and is still as plumb as can be. So I did put the Primestar there and have it working. If the post warps, it will give me a reason to go out and work with it and have some “dish fixing fun.” The other two are railroad ties that were placed when I removed the old BUD several years ago and put in the mesh one. They are at the edge of the driveway turnaround and to protect the bud. I have removed the one on the right because it has rotted so bad you could almost push it over. Maybe in that area I will get a steel post up before winter comes. I am not like Iceberg, I can not work on a dish standing in 5 feet of snow in 15 below zero temperature! That is just too extreme for me.
Thanks again Jim for a great day.

Nice farm RT. Wood posts will work just fine as long as they are solid and don't move in the wind, and for a fixed dish they don't need to be plumb.

Ted,

Had a nice visit when you were here. Good to see you have some of the dishes up already.
I see you have figured out the photo posting. Nice picture, looks better than the boards thumbnails.
Does the owl keep a watchful eye on things!

Looks like you have a good bunch there too. I see your point about plumb. Matters when you have a mover.

Great collection, hope that's a drivway and not a thru-street though. One big wreck would wipe you out.
Ya, the post stated it was my turn around in my driveway. I guess if I got jaged up I could back into them.

One is up and working. Maybe if no rain Tuesday, the next one. Got a pole installed today. Nice weather.
Yes, thanks for the picture info. Works well. Check out the one in FTA shack on how to relax.
The owl does a great job in keeping the birds from dumping on the BUD! Really works!
I see doggie in avatar!:)
