Interesting...according to ESPN's John Clayton, the 2013 2nd round pick becomes a #1 only if the Raiders play in the AFC championship game. IF the Raiders do make it to the AFC championship game...it was well worth it.
LMAO! At no point did I say it was a bad idea, at no point did I say that HGH testing is a bad idea and I never said it should be not be implemented. I just feel that it should not be started till all "i" are dotted, all "t" crossed and there a procedure in place.
Thats my humble opinion.......Next time just "agree to disagree" and move on dude....geez.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said collection of blood samples will likely begin within the next two weeks."That was the chairman's instructions," Goodell said. "Everybody around the table agreed."
NFC
1. Packers
2. 49ers
3. Buccaneers

5. Lions (WC)
6. Saints (WC)
AFC

The taking of blood is a result of the agreement with the meeting with Congress:
After a meeting on Capitol Hill, the NFL will start collecting blood samples for HGH testing - NFL News | FOX Sports on MSN
Now that the NFL has put a date to the above... NFLPA says 'oh wait...'
I'd suggest taking your own advice, I merely elaborated on my point. I completely understand backing away from the absurd analogy though and not basing your disagreement on any point of fact though, so agree to disagree.
When all is said and done, I think the Niners have a pretty good shot at one of the coveted first round byes. To put it bluntly...their division sucks, the NFC East winner will probably max out at 10 wins, and the NFC South is one of the toughest divisions in football. Also, the Niners are a good football team this year (something the NFC West hasn't seen in years).
LOL...I have taken and moved along. Thank you for calling my analogy, which is part of my opinion absurd.I will take that into consideration next time.
I just think that with the simple fact that is was agreed upon, that should start getting into the pysche of players. As Sandra said, the Olympic committe uses it, but for everything that I have read...they did not implement till everything was set and in place.
It does, but they did not start it till everything was set.
If you don't want your opinion to be judged, rebutted or discussed you may want to rethink this whole 'posting on message board' thing... or perhaps start a blog.
Olympic-style testing is now all set. All the NFLPA has to do is agree to the same type of testing as the Olympics.
They haven't.
Sandra
Because...."The other aspects on what to do with the tests will be resolved over the next many weeks."
Like I said, I want everything inplace before I agree to it. Let me use a different analogy, would anyone agree to signoff on the closing of a house if the inpsection was not complete? No. Same thing. They have agreed in principle to do. Now let's complete the entire process to get it started.
IF you do not agree that you would like everything in order, confirmed and completed, solid plan laid out....then we agree to disagree.
Looks like Lions RB Jahvid Best is out with another concussion.
NFL.com news: Lions practice without RBs Brown, Best on Wednesday
Semantics. The Olympic model of testing works. The NFL players are balking at the Olympic model.
Sandra
Hey Bill, what do you think of the HUGE gamble the Raiders took?
Of course it's a HUGE gamble for the Silver and Black, but they feel they can win NOW.
This is what I posted here yesterday:
No doubt the Raiders overpaid, but did they really have a choice? I don't think so.
Now, if they were in the Suck for Luck sweepskates, I'd say they were crazy for doing this.. But not only are they not, they are also very much in the playoff picture......something they wouldn't be if they remained status quo.
Now, let's say for the sake of argument...it the end of the year, and the Raiders just miss the playoffs and they HAVE the picks to make a major deal, would you consider it also too much if the gave 2 #1s for Andrew Luck..a completely unproven player at the NFL level?
Humor me.... LOL!![]()

Great, good, or whatever adjective, will probably be determined by where in the round those picks will occur. But it's always a positive to have those first round picks in your pocket....It was a GREAT deal.![]()

From what I've been hearing, Luck has the POTENTIAL to be a generational talent playing by far the most important position on the field.![]()
