i have a SL5 lnb and dish four wires come out of lnb to zinwell WB68 out of port 1 i am going to my H23 reciecver and no sat signal am i missing somthing in between or is the sat signal that hard to find now? I have changed my settings on receiver to SL5 and multiswitch or SWM still nothing help?

:welcome to Satelliteguys!

You shouldn't use the swm setting since you don't have a swm lnb. Is this a setup that was working before but doesn't now? Why are you using a multiswitch? How many receivers/dvrs do you have?

If you only have one receiver that you are hooking up,perhaps you could disconnect the four cables going to your Zinwell WB68 from your LNB. You only need to connect one of the four cables from your LNB to your receiver because the LNB should have an internal switch which would allow you to hook up up to 4 HD receivers,2 HD DVRs,or 1 HD DVR & 2 HD receivers per the four cables coming out of the LNB. Anything above the receiver scenario that I have given, then you'd need the Zinwell WB68. Try that,& then if you get a satellite signal, but no HD,I'll [try to] explain B-Band Converters.

I only have one receiver the dish and multi switch was givin to me and it was already set up as is

If you only have one recvr, bypass the MS, you won't need it.
Connect a line (any of them) to the LNB and the other end to a ground block, then to your recvr and your good.
Run the Repeat Sat Set up.

guys thanks removing the MS made the difference and signal came up vary quick thanks for your help

When I first got DIRECTV,I too only had one receiver to hook up. I wanted to have a Zinwell multiswitch installed, but the installer said that it would miss up the signal if I had only one receiver(HR22 DVR),so I just went with connecting two of the four cables from the LNB(SL3) to my HD DVR.

No the installer did not want to run the extra unneed 2 wires from the dish to the switch. Only having one receiver would make no difference. Have customers all the time that just have 1 HD reveiver and they want international channels. That takes 4 lines from the HD dish and 1 line from the ODU36 to a 6x8 and then 1 line to the receiver.

Didn't they at one time have molder 4 pr coax that they would run from dish to switch/ground block ?
