Well the difference between Luck and Tebow is Tebow has won championships at every level of the game (except his current level which he just entered) And Tebow has broken several SEC records and a heisman under his belt.

Success in college does not equate to success in the NFL. COMPLETELY different level from high school and college.

Or lack there of? But to state HE would have...quite arrogant when he has not done the same in NY.

You called a Ryan brother arrogant. What's next, sky blue, grass green? :p He's promised the same for the Jets and nearly delivered. Norv gets so conservative and Marty-like I am impressed he even responded the way he did. The most impressive thing Norv has done in San Diego is get them to 4-1 this year, For the first time in his tenure there they're ready to play early in the season.

I shouldn't have been as specific, the whole front office is why the Chargers have not had more success, Marty should still be their coach. I think with the teams they've had there the last few years even he'd have gotten a ring by now.

Now, let's say for the sake of argument...it the end of the year, and the Raiders just miss the playoffs and they HAVE the picks to make a major deal, would you consider it also too much if the gave 2 #1s for Andrew Luck..a completely unproven player at the NFL level?

Humor me.... LOL!:D

This hypothetical is weighing "potential greatness not even in the prime of his career" to a "known commodity on the downside of his career".

BTW, Two #1's won't be enough to snag A. Luck.

I know..but one thing to say that " I will win SBs with my team...", its another to insinuate 'you screwed up by taking that guy because I a better coach'...that is throwing one of your own coaching fraternity under the bus.

Um, WOW!!!

Per Schefter: RB Jerome Harrison has a BRAIN TUMOR that voided trade to Philadelphia and is expected to end his season, per NFL sources.

Without trade, Jerome Harrison doesn't get physical. Without physical, doctors don't find brain tumor. Trade might have saved his life.

Wow that sucks to find that out, but maybe they found it soon enough to save his life.

Meanwhile here in Queens land (that would be the Vikes) McSuck is benched for the rookie to play the undefeated Packers

Why do I have a feeling this happened yesterday...
McNabb "oh thank god...that rookie is gonna get the crap beat out of him ala Archie Manning in 84" (in 84 Archie played for the Vikes and seemed to get killed on every play)
Ponder "**GULP** I am so screwed"

Wow, that is amazing! Hopefully everything goes well for him.

Oof.

Jahvid Best strongly advised to sit out season

Lions RB Jahvid Best has been advised by people close to him to "strongly consider sitting out the year" after suffering his second concussion of the season. As Freeman noted, Best was forced to miss the final four games of his college career due to concussion-like symptoms. Speculation is that further concussion issues could wreck his career.

Look how good Cam Newton(much to my surprise) & Andy Dalton are performing in their rookie season. I would love to see Andrew Luck go to the Colts & learn behind Peyton Manning though.

And for everyone one of those, I give you:

David Carr
Joey Harrington
Akili Smith
Tim Couch
Dan McGuire
Kelly Stoufer
Todd Blackledge
Rick Mirer
Art Schlichter
Heath Shuler
David Klingler
Andre Ware
Ryan Leaf

...and of course, my all time favorite... JaMarcus "Fatass" Russell.

And those are the ones that come out of the top of my head....

All 1st round QB picks.

It's not about being a first round pick. Luck is being talked about as being special...possibly Elway/Marino special. I don't believe the above were talked about like that.

But time will tell.

...and how many of them were considered good enough to be the 1st overall pick to boot...?

Newton, Stafford, Bradford, Manning x2, Vick

Alex Smith wasn't too good and Carr has been mediocre, Carson Palmer has been OK but has been flat for a couple years before his falling out with the Bengals... but Russell is the only true bust QB at 1 overall in the last decade.
