Once Upon A Time

I liked it. I felt it was a little more ABC Family than Network ABC. Kind of the way I felt about No Ordinary Family.

S~

I liked it too . So I fully expect it to be cancelled post haste. As I've said before , Sci-Fi/Fantasy doesn't last on network tv , like it did back in the 70s.

I made it about 10 minutes in before I stopped watching and deleted my timer. I agree with the comment about the feeling like an ABC Family program. It just didn't feel mature enough for me. I'll give Grimm a shot later this week.

too damn twilightish for me..

If you mean by that too much teen romance angst, you've validated my reason for passing on it. When I first heard about it I was looking forward to it, but every trailer I've seen for it since hasn't given me one reason to get into it. It felt like that Disney movie "Enchanted," which I liked; I just don't see myself watching an entire TV series like that.

Then it sounds like GRIMM will be more your style. It is more CSI with Fairy tale murders and deaths thrown in. It starts Friday night on Nbc.

Well if you only made it ten minutes in, I am not surprised by that reaction. But if you actually gave it the full 42 minutes, I'd say it was quite interesting.

I liked it a lot. Very interesting. Took me five minutes to figure out why the lead Emma looked so familiar, then it hit me. Ted's girlfriend on How I Met Your Mother. DOH.

Yeah, just going 10 minutes into the first episode isn't really a fair way to do it.

I enjoyed watching the plot lines and characters develop. I think it will be one of the better shows to survive. Now for tomorrow to see Grimm and how it compares...

There was zero teenage romance in it. Yes, they had the end of the Snow White story, but that was entirely context for the show.

HIFI's just weird. Harry Potter and Twilight he doesn't get/like, but Star Wars and Buffy the Vampire Slayer are good to go for him. I'll make him watch it anyway, just because the DVR is in the living room with the good tv. :D If he complains, then he can hurry up and put a tv in the kitchen for me and I'll watch it in there.

Did it last long back then? Battlestar Galactica was canceled after a single season, and Star Trek almost got canceled after the 2nd season and was canned after teh 3rd.

The 6 million dollar man lasted I think 5 years. Wonder Woman lasted three years ,but on two different networks and so did Bionic Woman ,but also on two different networks. The Incredible Hulk -3 or 4 years? Those shows we all watched heavily during the 70s and loved them. They would never last in this day in age on network tv. I really surprised that FRINGE is doing as well as it has done on Fox.

As for Star Trek it lasted three seasons: fall of 66- spring of 67, fall of 67-spring of 68, fall of 68 -spring of 69. It was cancelled in June, the month before we landed on the Moon: July 20 , 1969. Battlestar Galactica ran from the fall of 78 to the spring of 79 and then there was the short lived Battlestar Galactica 1980 version where they reached earth in then " present day" 1980.

CHUCK has lasted much longer than I ever expected. I am also surprised Fringe has lasted on Fox. ST:TNG lasted seven years in the 80s/90s, but wasn't on the big three.

EXACTLY! Star Trek Next Generation was in syndication. That is the ONLY reason it lasted as long as it did , because Network tv plays to the lowest common denominator, which means they only try to make shows that have wide spread audience appeal. Thus cop/detective shows, hospital shows, Court/lawyer shows etc. It is very ,very rare a show with Sci-fi or Fantasy slant make it on the 4 big networks. That is why so many of them seem to end up on CW.

Vampire Diaries
Secret Circle
Supernatural
