When we will we get the outdoor channel in HD. They have it on direct in HD. Dish only has it in SD. Why is this?

Have you watched it on Direct? Do they actually put HD programming on it? There are a lot of HD channels that have very little HD programming on them.

My husband wonders the same thing. of all the channels ,that is the one he wants most in HD

Some of us who do enjoy the outdoors would love to have the outdoor channel in HD. I know its offered as they advertise it on their channel and say "contact your cable or satellite provider". Thanks Zack for putting in the request. I have done that with dish on a couple of occassions over the years to no avail but i do appreciate the effort. If I misspoke about Direct TV having it I apolojize it must of been cable I watched it on. Dish has the sportsman channel in HD and its really good would just like the outdoor channel as well.

I've seen the Sportsman Channel and WFN in HD and I've never been impressed with the picture quality at all. Some shows do look good but most look subpar.

don't give up on what you want ;)

I appreciate having Sportsman HD, and Versus HD has a lot of outdoor programming too. Still, I'd like to see Outdoor Channel added to the HD lineup as well as WFN HD re-added also.

The SD feed on WFN looks much worse than the HD feed ever did. While the HD quality on these outdoor networks isn't as good as the HD quality on other channels, I have to consider how the content is produced. I mean, c'mon, they're taking this equipment out hunting and fishing, of course it's not going to look like it was shot in a studio or prime time TV. Many of the hunting shows are self filmed with handheld cameras.

Just because the quality isn't the best we've ever seen doesn't mean it can't benefit from being on an HD channel.
