All I'm saying is that we shouldn't jump to conclusions after a few games. Give it time. Tebow will let us all know whether or not he has IT.

LOL Tebow definitely has IT HD! The only question is if he has everything else you need to be a successful NFL quarterback!

He has mojo or moxy, but so did Brady Quinn. IT is more than just a good attitude and work ethic though. IT is the WHOLE package, including skills.

Ooh I"m just gonna say Tebow has something inside him that Brady Quinn (and most of the rest of the free world) does not. And as I said, the real question is whether Tebow's skills can catch up to his IT.

Sandra

Whatever it is that tebow has is unlike anything else I've ever seen lol. And I mean that in a good way.

Oh he has "IT"...because if he didn't, no one would be talking about him on almost daily basis. His "IT" is charisma and his cool under pressure. There is NO DOUBT about that part of his game. But I agree with you opinion and the Colt McCoy comparison. But also..VERY little has been said about the Denver defense...they have been very good and when they were spotty, like in the Raider game, they played just enough defense to keep them around to make pull away in the end.

The Tebow wins have been against bad or middle of the pack teams. We shall see wht happens when they play the more elite teams.

The IT goes well beyond charisma and cool under pressure. You can name a number of athletes that describes. You cannot name many athletes who are like Tebow.

I can agree with that...But without coolness under pressure, you do not perform successfully in pressure situations...he does.

What's amazing about this guy is that I did not like him when he was at Florida. I thought he was the right QB for the right situation with the best coach and a great team. I thought that was why he won so much.

Now it's almost like he's in the worst possible situation in Denver...controlled by people who didn't draft him and may not even want him even with the victories, ridiculed unmercifully but NFL 'experts', opponents, fans, and every other yahoo with an opinion, and put into a situation WAY too early in his career where he was forced to prove himself prematurely.

And guess what...even if Tebow never wins another game (although I have a feeilng he has a lot more wins in him), he's ALREADY accomplished more than I ever thought possible coming out of college.

I know he's not one of those cool criminal types people love to root for...but the guy already has my admiration. I really did get a chill out of watching him beat my team...and by that I mean the Jets. When he beat Ohio State I had a whole 'nother feeling!

it does matter that tim is facing defenses in the NFL. but if you want to keep telling yourself there's no difference from college then go right ahead. i've been hoping tebow succeeds since day one. i like him. nice kid. works his ass off. and i do believe he's a good football player.but nothing has lead me to believe he will end up being a franchise QB. and even though sanchez is better than tebow, he's another one that i always had doubts on whether he can be a franchise qb. i sometimes get hammered here when i share my opinion on what i think a rookie qb will turn out to be but damn i'm usually right. the jets will have no choice but to ride this one out. unlike the raiders who wisely cut ties with russell, the jets will probably waste more time with this guy. and if tebow doesn't improve as a QB (not as a runner) he too will not be the future in denver no matter what happens this season. you can't run a consistent offense with his style of a play. and what little he's doing will soon disappear as defenses catch up to what little success he's having on the field.

i hope i'm wrong on the above about tebow.again i'm hoping he succeeds and proves his critics wrong. i just don't see that happening. if he had some of the throwing abilities like lets say of kyle orton then you would really have a pretty good qb. tebow has everything else you want in a qb. great leader, works his ass off and will leave it all on the field.great runner! just not a very good thrower. he's got to improve.the NFL is becoming more and more a passing league. his current style of play will not succeed long term....

Again defense has nothing to do with the fact he is over throwing wide open receivers or throwing it in the dirt to wide open receivers. You would be hard press to find a video of him over throwing anyone wide open in college. But yet he seems to do it every game this year. I dont care if you are playing against the best secondary in the NFL or the worse or a high school defense, the fact that you over throw a recevier by several yards more often then you hit him on the numbers means something. Its not the defense, its crappy accuracy. Which is something new for Tebow.

His accuracy is worse now, not because of the NFL training, but because the Defenders are much better and faster.
In the NFL the guys that are open, are not WIDE open.
If theres a guy WIDE open in the NFL, you better hit him because the play was blown on the Defensive side.

What does the defenders being bigger and faster have anything to do with him missing guys who are wide open? And yes he is missing guys who have 5-10 yard leads against defenders. Look at the games, he is not missing small windows, he is missing passes the worst QBs in the NFL should be able to at least make. Has nothing to do with a defender getting into the window and stopping the pass, or the presure defense is putting on him. He is flat out not throwing the ball ANYWHERE near as accurately as he did in college.

I mean you tell me no one is wide open? Look at these

Kyle Orton Commenting On Tim Tebow Overthrowing A F*@king Wide Open Receiver - YouTube

In this video you can clearly see how trying to drop back to throw really messed up his throw

I mean there are lots of those plays at least 3-4 a game it seems where he has a guy just plain wide open and he misses, be it a simple screen pass or a long bomb.

Look I am probably the biggest Tebow supporter on this place so Im certainly not trying to talk bad about him and we can say the receivers certainly drop as many if not more pass's then tebow throws bad ones but shesh its ugly.

What is making him throw badly is the UNLEARNING of horrible mechanics. Which NO ONE bother to teach him because the Gators were winning..."if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mentality that is created with the pressure of winning. Do you think Urban Meyer was gonna mess with the mechanics of possibly the greatest college QB ever while they were competing for National Championship every year? HELL NO!

And oh yeah..."Again the defense does not matter" is an interesting comment coming from you because that seems to be you main argument when you are hootin' and hollerin' how much better the SEC conference is compared to everyone else...

...just saying...;)

You are exactly right in the first part of your post. Waht is what is making him horribly inaccurate to even miss the easy open throws. He never did that in college, sure his form was horrid looking but it worked.

And Defense does not matter when you are discussing a QB who is simply over throwing players or throwing it in the dirt.

If you want to talk about him throwing interceptions or throwing sloppy because of the pressure thats different. I am talking about his poor throws to wide open guys.

I never said it had to do with defense when he misses a wide open target. But that would be the only time. So I'm not disagreeing with that point

Defense DOES matter here because the mistakes that were just slightly off and fell innocently to lush green grass at the Swamp...become pick-6's in the NFL. The pass that is just a little behind the WR, become INTs that kill drives.

When a QB is overthrowing his WR, it usually means he has what they call "happy feet" and results in releasing the ball BEFORE he wants to, should or needs to.

I'm old enough to remember Bobby Douglass, unfortunately it was before the golden age of Cable TV(& way before D* NFL ST),so I really only saw him live on TV once on MNF(aw the golden days of rabbit ears & only 5 TV channels max,ABC,NBC,CBS,& 2 PBS channels. Crap,I remember only having 2 channels to watch with each channel having a combination of ABC/NBC & CBS/NBC. Good times). I think that Tebow is trying to better himself,he just has to do it on the fly. I believe his passing will eventually improve. He might surprise us all & throw for 300 yards in a game this season.
