How much is the Hopper upgrade costing you?

Just set up the upgrade from one 722/one 211 to one Hopper/one Joey. Dealt with a very nice CSR who unfortunately was out sick yesterday when they did H/J CSR training. I actually knew more info than she did, but I expected that, and was cool with it. She had to put me on hold a few times as she worked her way through the screens. Turns out that (as I expected, given I've been with Dish more than a decade and on autopay) I'm a 5-star customer.

Upshot:

$100 Hopper
$0 Joey
Truck roll install fee $95

Monthly fee increase: $2

Install time: tomorrow morning between 8AM-Noon.

We also discovered that I was being incorrectly charged $10/mo even though I qualified for HD for Life. That got fixed. But for some reason my bills have been showing a $10 receiver credit lately, so it was a wash. Good to have things straightened out, anyway.

The only thing I may check with DIRT about is how I see reports here of the install fee being waived. Otherwise, I'm a happy camper. Now, considering that my install is very likely to be the installer's first ever H/J install, let's see how I feel tomorrow afternoon.

I don't know bro,

DIRT got me the stuff for 100 bucks, plus no install, and 10 bucks of a month off for 6 months.

I guess I got lucky with my CSR. I paid 84 bucks for a Hopper and 1 Joey installed. I think I probably was hit at 100 like everyone else is saying and got a small credit for the two 622's they're taking back with them. My monthly bill even went down about 7 bucks a month but I do subscribe to a lot of programming. They installer is at my house now, five hours after I placed the order. Easy process and no haggling required.

They will waive the $95 install fee if you have (or sign up for) the protection plan for $6 per month.

K, I do have that plan so that may explain the diff on the install. between that and a replacemnet 722 I got under that plan, I more than got my $$ out of the 6 bucks a month so far.

I just upgraded to two hoppers , four joeys, and one sling adapter.(Saturday install)(6 HD tv hook-up)
Replacing two 722's and one 922. 24 month commitment, minus ten dollars a month discount for 24 months.
Charge 200.00 for two hoppers and 39.00 for sling adapter. Total of $239.00. I have the Everything package
and have been with Dish for about 10 years with a high customer rating. New monthly bill 165.99+tax-10.00
discount. Only got discount with arm twisting and told them I was thinking about moving to Directv. I hope
this helps others in negotiations. Pub membership really saves you money when you are inform by reading this

I did the online chat this AM, and was told no cost if I renew for 2 years (this was 2 Joeys and 1 hopper) TBH I've had Dish for awhile so don't plan on dropping it. He wanted to schedule the appt for today, however I couldn't get away with it due to a Doctor's appt. He then booked for Saturday, and sure enough I get an email confirm for today , so had to again chat with another CSR, and all fixed now for Sat. See how it goes :) My wife is really hating the 922 and it's "Quirks" so hoping this goes better.

I just signed up with Dish a few months ago for the Hopper. I am being charged $199 for hopper and $99 for each Joey (2). Since I am new and still have the support, the install is $15. So the $400 will be due on my next bill and I Had to sign up for another 2 years. Let's hope nothing changed but from some of the docs you all have shared. That seems right to me. Can't wait.

The online chat I spoke to today wouldn't let me upgrade to a hopper, I currently have 922, 2 625s (I own them), 322 and a 311 receiver. They told me right now I can't upgrade but can in a couple weeks. Messaged zach hopefully he can help. I wanted 2 hoppers and 4 joeys.

I've been a customer for 3 years. I called a month ago and was told a Hopper a 2 Joeys would run me $199 total to upgrade.

Today I contact Dish on twitter, they first tell me its $700 to upgrade to 1H + 2J... And then later tell me that the retail price is actually $647.

My friend who has the same Dish setup as me, got it roughly the same time I did, and he's only paying $99 for 1H + 2J... Insane.

Actually thinking about switching to those-other-guys....

Yep they told me this morning 200 plus 99 plus 95 for the tech visit..

Uh no thanks. Ridiculous.

Right now I have a 722 and a 222, upgrading to Hopper + 2 Joeys is $99 flat fee and $4 per month difference. The 29th can't come soon enough (but gives others 2 weeks to work out the bugs) :)

I was curious to know how much it would cost me to upgrade so I chatted with a CSR. For 2 hoppers and 2 joeys, it'll cost me $200 and a $15 tech fee. I still plan on waiting, just passing along the info. I have AT 200 and have been on for 1 year.

Edit: During the same chat session, they said sorry for the typo, it'll be $800 for the 2 hoppers and 2 joey's!!!! Ouch

I would PM a DIRT member to make sure.
