2011-12 College Hockey

Yikes! They lost 2-1 to St. Cloud State...I didn't see that coming.

I did

Them snowmobile jacket losers always seem to have our number...dont know why. Especially at the National Concrete Center (with the Ric Flair imersonator as PA announcer..he friggin says "wooooo" after a goal)
It pisses me off that they whined and cried and threw a temper tantrum to get into the NCHC in a couple years.

The NCHC is going to be good too
Colorado College (2)
Denver (7)
Miami Ohio
Minnesota Duluth (1)
Nebraska-Omaha
North Dakota (7)
St Clown State
Western Michigan

Not bad. I knew the Big Ten threw NCAA Hockey into a tizzy, but I had no idea the NCHC was formed. Offhand, the CCHA and WCHA are shells of their former selves. They may have to merge to survive. Anyway, I don't like the fact that the Big Ten is only six (6) teams. IMO, they need at least eight (8) teams to have a really great league.

They are ;)
On August 25, 2011, the WCHA announced that had invited the University of Alaska Fairbanks, Bowling Green State, Ferris State, and Lake Superior State to join beginning in the 2013-2014 season. On August 26, 2011, Alaska-Fairbanks, Ferris State and Lake Superior State accepted their invitations and will join Northern Michigan into the WCHA in 2013.[12] After much deliberation, on October 4, 2011, Bowling Green decided to join the WCHA as well in 2013.[13]

Which works out honestly so teams would probably go to Alaska for 2 weeks and play Anchorage and Fairbanks on back to back weeks

So the WCHA will be those 5 teams + Bemidji, Mankato, Anchorage, Mich Tech

Big loss last night in the best of three in thee ccha playoffs for the Ferris state bulldogs, hopefully the win tonight and get to game three tomorrow

Lots of great games on tap this weekend (Friday-Sunday) :) Michigan does battle with Bowling Green @ Detroit in the CCHA Semifinal on Friday night, and plays in the Final or for 3rd Place on Saturday. Elsewhere, my Norwich teams (both the men and women) are playing in the NCAA Division III Semifinals on Friday. I'm sure the WCHA and Hockey East fans are going nuts too.

WCHA Final 5 this week

Thursday
Denver/Michigan Tech at 2:00
St Clown/North Dakota at 7:00

Friday
winner of early game vs MN Duluth :) 2:00
winner of night game vs the goofs at 7:00

Satuday Championship at 7:00

All games on FSN North

Hockey East semifinals tonight at TD Garden:

Boston College vs. Providence College- 5:00pm ET
Boston University vs. Maine- 8:00pm ET

Championship Game tomorrow night at 8:00pm ET

all games are on NBC Sports Network

BC defeats PC 4-2 in game 1. The Eagles will play the BU-Maine winner tomorrow night.

Maine beats Boston University and will meet BC for the Hockey East championship tomorrow night. However, BU is a lock to make the NCAA's.

I'll be tuning-in tonight. The CCHA final is on Fox Sports (no HD for me) at 7:30 PM ET, Hockey East final is on NBCSN (aka Versus) at 8:00 PM ET, but I don't see the WCHA anywhere in the lineup. :( What channel are they on?

Anyway, there are also two NHL games on for this evening: Toronto at Ottawa (7:00 PM ET on NHLHD) and Detroit at San Jose (10:30 PM ET on NBCSN).

Should be a complete night of Hockey entertainment...if I can find the WCHA final.
