Peyton Manning

Why can't Peyton & Tebow co-exist? For all the worries that if Peyton has a bad game, the fans will start calling out for Tebow, everybody knows that you don't have to put Tebow in until the last 2 minutes of the game. "Tebow Time," he could be the Broncos' "closer."

Well I do agree that John Elway & the Broncos should get the same market value for Tim Tebow that the Colts got for Peyton Manning.........nothing. The Broncos are willing to trade or release Tebow,I say force them to release him. There is a feeling in Denver that the fan base will turn against Elway if he cuts Tebow outright. Elway is looking for a "face saving" way to cut Tebow loose & I say that the other 31 teams in the NFL should not give it to him. Force Elway to cut Tebow.

two completely different offensive sets as well as offensive personnel.

I think the fans are being WAY too picky when Elway just delivered the biggest FA pickup any sports team in Denver has ever had. AND finally proves how much of a farce Elway's loyalty was to Tebow, so there is no nice way to cut ties. He already stuck his foot in his mouth when he stated Tebow was his starter going into next season back in January...having Manning changes that.

The upper management of most to all NFL teams, EVERYONE wants an "elite" QB. There are only 4 to 8 in the ENTIRE NFL.

What makes you think Tebow & Manning have the same market value?? You do realize that Manning was not under Colts' control and could not be traded by the Colts without being signed first, right??

The There is a feeling in Denver that the fan base will turn against Elway if he cuts Tebow outright.
Really?? A feeling?? Everything I've seen and read seems to indicate that the real football fans in Denver are gaga over Manning. It's the Tebow fans that will miss him.

Elway is looking for a "face saving" way to cut Tebow loose & I say that the other 31 teams in the NFL should not give it to him. Force Elway to cut Tebow.
Elway didn't draft Tebow. Why can't he try and work a trade if there are willing partners out there??

But Chris Mortensen has already reported that the Broncos are willing to trade or release Tebow, which dramatically reduces his trade value. That & the fact that any team who trades for Tebow would have to get him to restructure his contract to fit their salary cap for the second & third year of his contract with them. The best option for the rest of the teams in the NFL is for Elway to be forced to cut him. What is the trade value for Tebow knowing that the Broncos(& Elway) want him gone, period?

No matter what,Elway is the villain in the picture. I certainly did not believe him when he said He wanted what was best for Tim Tebow(no matter how the NFL network "talking heads" tried to spin it afterwards). Seriously? Elway wants what's best for the Broncos(which is understandable) & for his continuing legacy. He may have picked up the best FA ever for any team in the NFL,but Manning is 36 years old. I think that Charley Johnson & Craig Morton were the same age when they started playing for the Broncos. The Broncos have a thing for "long in the tooth" QB's.

Exactly, force the Broncos to cut him(like the Colts did Manning) & then the rest of the NFL teams can "cut out the middle man(Elway)" when bidding for Tebow.

And overpay for a FA contract rather than giving up a low-mid round pick for a QB in the last 3 years of a 5 year $11m contract.

Why are you saying 'exactly"?? You obviously still don't get it....

In a perfect world, the owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars will give Elway everything he wants for Tebow(Jaguars' number one pick, maybe Blaine Gabbert,& one of the Jaguars' defensive stars),Tim Tebow would be so happy about returning to Florida,he'll gladly restructure his contract for less money to help Jacksonville out,& unicorns will roam free across the earth again.

What don't I get("dis ain't personal, dis is bidness")? John Elway wants to DUMP/UNLOAD/GET RID OF Tim Tebow, what am I missing here? It is reported & should be well known to the rest of the NFL that the Broncos want to trade or release Tim Tebow. Why negotiate with the Broncos when you can get him for free? Release him,let him become an unrestricted free agent,& let him market himself. Let's see which teams really want him. Let the free market decide his worth. You know & I know that Elway saying that he wants what's best for Tim Tebow is total BS. John Elway is a used car salesman, that should say it all. Used car salesmen LIE to unload what THEY consider a POS. What do YOU consider Tim Tebow's market worth?

I'm reading posts from people(drawing from the totality of all their posts) who call Tebow a below average QB at best, cannot throw, cannot read defenses, has no place in the NFL,but expects the Broncos to get something of market value in return for him in a trade, then the team that traded for him can be mocked & ridiculed, right?

Quote any number of posts where I've said that.

He has value because he is in a cheap contract, and is less of a risk to bring in for a low pick vs him being on the market and potentially demanding starter money from a team like Miami where he could very well start. I am not saying he's worth a 1st or even 4th round pick, he is going to be offloaded for next to nothing, but it's likely they'll get more for him than Indy got for Manning, for very different reasons. I'd be surprised if he was released, but not shocked. If the market is reduced to a single team interested then the likely scenario is he'll be released as his trade value is reduced to zero. As long as more than one team is interested, there is value in a trade so that the 'winner' doesn't have to sign a potentially more expensive free agent contract.

Yet a post or two after I say that he's got a cheap contract, even citing the numbers, you then suggest (among 20 other random things) that he would restructure said contract, while quoting my post that said he has a cheap contract to begin with.

So yeah, 'drawing from the totality of your posts' you aren't reading the thread at all, just dumping idea after idea here as it hits the top of your head from I don't know where, because you sure aren't posting links to where you may be getting any of them from.

Report: Tim Tebow may be traded to New York Jets or Jacksonville Jaguars as early as Wednesday - NFL - Sporting News

While the idea of Tebow going to the Jets makes sense because of Tony Sparano & the Wildcat(& the Jets do need something to kickstart Mark Sanchez & their offense),the idea of Tebow going to the Jacksonville Jaguars, which makes sense, sort of,will be met with snickers. The owner(with the goofy looking moustache),while well meaning, will be viewed as clueless because he traded for a "novelty player" like Tim Tebow instead of trying to build up the team with players who can help the team win(kind of like Bill Veeck with the gimmick of playing a midget for the St. Louis Browns' baseball team). Unless somehow Tebow can repeat the magic for the Jaguars that he did for the Broncos, the Jaguars(& especially their owner) will be viewed as the laughing stock of the NFL.

Streams of unconsciousness....
