Right here in the New Orleans metropolitan area we are lucky to have two OTA channels in whch "Me Tv" and This Tv" are being shown, but just like anyone else, I am not able to receive "Me Tv" and "This Tv" by satellite.

I hope that there is no plan on changing anything in those two OTA channels. wish us luck.

radio, you might be having the same problem as i am. i don't think thistv is on 101. when i move the dish to 99w, then i can get thistv but not metv. have no idea what is happening if they are on the same satellite. charlie

with the 6 footer you pick up to satellites at one time if they are 2 degrees apart. It happens very often for me.A lot of times i like when it does that.Me or dish is not on 99w

Chaskuchar,

The 6ft is seeing more than 2 degrees of the sky and what most likely is happening is the strong analog signal on Gal 16 at 4020 is bleeding into the 4014 ME-TV signal on SES-1. Since the 6 foot dish is seeing so much sky, it can see both 101W and 99W. Basically what is happening is you are getting adjacent satellite interference and when you move the dish slightly null out the interference just enough to lock on to the signal. I'm seeing a similar problem at my location. But in my case I think by repositioning my feed I'll null out the signal bleeding over from Gal 19. This is all quite clear watching the signal on a spectrum analyzer.

Bottom line is that though a 6 foot dish will work on some satellites, problems develop because the 6 footer sees more than the 2 degrees that the satellites are spaced apart.

Fine! What an IDIOT move this is.

They want to play this mess?

Fine.. I'm breaking out the big guns..

That 4m Patriot will put an end to this nonsense!

I hope they crank up the power once the move is finalized.

Just an observation, but if my memory serves me correct when THIS and ME were launched on SES2 (then AMC3) the signal quality/strength was lower than normal and the video unstable. To put it in laymen's, they were a pain in the......... Over time, maybe a month or so the signal got gradually better and stabilized at a higher percent and the video problems ceased. I am hoping that will be the case in their move to SES1. Hope so .

Yeah that's why I hope it happens this time.....only time will tell.

On a unrelated note, on Amc 7 luken has a notice up they are shutting down the Dvb s feeds there. All they are leaving is the s2 feeds. Also unrelated my 10 foot Sami is getting everything from 72 to 139 degrees. I'm happy she is tuned up. Goodbye 69.99 Wsi special.

My WSI special is soooooo rusted that there's no point in wasting any more time on it. It's coming down soon. The dish itself, to the trash. The polar mount and other hardware, is going to be used to make a new Frankendish.

and why would you say that? Lets see....remember WE ARE NOT THE INTENDED AUDIENCE. Network affiliates who use that have a 3 meter or larger dish.....probably a 12-14 foot dish. Also center of the Clark belt is easier for west coast, Alaska and Hawaii than 87W. 87W is under the horizon for Alaska as example

Yeah.. I guess you're right.. :(

Man... This so called hobby, it's h*ll to keep up with! Just when you get things worked out and you're all comfy, BOOM! They throw a monkey wrench at you and hit you right in the head with it!

To paraphrase a popular movie quote, I'm gonna need a bigger dish. PortaBUD isn't going to cut it for this bird.

I do have my eyes on a 10' or 12' (can't tell which) Paraclipse with a couple of missing mesh panels...

I won't be rolling this one home.

same here. Me & ThisTV are on a local OTA subchannel :)

hate to say it but I'd rather have Antenna TV than This TV ;)

I have never seen Antenna TV, but I am sure it has to be better than THIS. To be honest if I lose THIS it won't be no great loss. When it first came on I watched it all day. It have some of the great westerns and those funny early 60s comedies. I have never heard of most of the movies they have on now and what I've seen of them calling them B movies is being polite. On the other hand, if I lose ME it's going to be hell around here. Mama spends her weekends watching the westerns on ME and RTV. They kinda of keep her occupied with something besides me ;).

For those that are having issues with ME-TV & THIS-TV on SES-1, some tweaking may help. I was seeing quite a bit of bleedover from Gal 16 4020V (Shephards Chapel Analog). Today I had a chance to play with my feed a bit, I moved it closer to the dish which helped some, then tweaked my polarity (Dual Ortho here) and then moved the feed as far as it would go toward the dish and both ME and THIS are looking good. I also checked across the arc and everything else actually improved a touch. Sometimes you need a touch signal to get every last db out of your setup!

Ice,
Totally agree there, but, do they not care we can watch, are happy more people can see their supporter commercials, or is scrambling just too expensive?
