Why is it that Dish can never get the programming on its websites correct?
Is it incompetence or Charlie playing poker with its customers by lying about what is in its packages?

Just moved to Dish America due to this link:
http://www.mydish.com/downloads/Channel-Lineup/DISHamericaChannelGuide.pdf

The PDF chart shows Dish America having both Dish CD Music and Sirius. And it's a brand new chart -- even lists the hopper!

So now I am told I can be without channels in the chart or pay $5 in a fee to switch back to the Top 120.

Here is an idea Dish ... If your website claims to provide a channel in a package that isn't actually provided, you should provide those channels in the package until such time as your incompetent website team fixes the problem on the site!

Unless, of course, it's just another hand of poker ...

You don't actually say what you are not getting, I'm assuming Sirius? They should honor what the website says unless there is an obvious error, that is not obvious.

Yes... I'm not getting the Sirius music channels even though the web page states I should be receiving them. And Dish customer service simply stated that mydish.com must be a third party dealer operated website as "our website is dishnetwork.com, not mydish.com". And therefore they can't be responsible for wrong content on a website that they don't own.

Of course, mydish.com is Dish Network's website and is registered to Dish.... but try telling that to Dish customer service. :)

And yes, I'm sure that DIRT could "help me out", but what I really want is for Dish to have an accurate website......

:facepalm

For what it is worth, I sent a PM to Matt -- hopefully he will be able to assist further.

FYI; The dish site has never had the correct channels on some of the packages for a long time, and I have talked to csr's and to dirt but the issue has not been taken care of, at least in the long term.
I have DA Gold and have never understood why there are not some music channels in the DA packages, and you can say they are HD only packages, but with the religious, shopping and public interest channels one half of the channels I receive are NOT HD.
I do have a lifetime sub to Sirius, that I run through my a/v receiver via digital optical, so I really don't need the music channels, was just stating a thought.

I think having SiriusXM is a pretty big deal, there have been other threads of many people who use the Dish receiver through their stereo at home. The sound is very good. So I can understand if the webpage says your package has it, it actually should have it.....

We're still around! I'm just getting back from a 3 day weekend, so playing a bit of catch up on things.
Maybe we need to change your nickname from Speedy to Old Reliable. :D

Was just strange seeing no DIRT on earlier in the day. :D

Hope you had a good long weekend! (Its just too bad they don't make long weekends long enough.) :D

Having both an XM receiver with SiriusXM subscription, and the Dish SirriusXM channels, I'd have to say they sound better on Dish.

Has anyone ever donea comparison of the SiriusXM bitrates via both methods of carriage? I've heard there is even a difference between the two types of satellite methods XM vs Sirius. But, I don't remember which one is supposed to be better, or if the difference even exists anymore.

This is a follow up to my earlier post. I do not watch SD programming, only HD, or at least what I think is HD programming, so there is a lot of wasted channels in my package alone.
I would certainly like to have the Sirius channels through Dish if the sound is good, and I would think it would be, as other programs on other channels, sound good through my Home Theatre. IMHO- Though I will say my hearing is not what it used to be.

Good catch! It would be awesome if the Sirius XM channels would be in a lower package like Dish America. They are in AT120 and Dish Latino Clasico. That is actually a somewhat recent move. What I noticed is that there are two Sirius XM channels listed on the following Dish Family page: DishFAMILY Packages | DISH Family TV
I am thinking that is another error. Sadly, this is one of Dish's downfalls. They have a great product, but it is the incorrect information that makes them look bad.

Please do tell what Dish was able to come up with for you......

I got a PM back from Matt. He apologized the website was incorrect and told me I could move back to the Top 120 package if I wished without the $5 one time fee.
So I am still thinking of what to do. I really am disappointed in Dish once again.

Please do tell what Dish was able to come up with for you......
