DISH Drops AMC Networks (AMC Back on DISH channel 131)

Doing chat now. I mentioned the AMC programming and the Roku and got sent to an account specialist...number 76 in queue. 20 minute estimated wait.

My chat didn't work. I mentioned I was long-time customer and out of contract; asked about losing AMC and what my options were. All they offered me was to watch the free previews. I told them I wasn't very happy about that reply but I understood their situation.

What would it take to buy me off..... hmmm... free sling adapter, free upgrade to 2 hoppers, and whatever credits are necessary to have no increase in cost to me for at least 12 months. It's not just the cost, but the dicking around to find the stuff I want on some other service.

I got a email from dish on how to set up my Roku after receiving one, I would assume that you should have gotten one also?

Hmmm, no did not get any email. I was transfered from the loyalty rep that offered the roku to another rep who confirmed my info and setup two orders overnight one for roku and one for hdmi cable and said would receive confirmation. Anyone else get transfered from loyalty to someone else to complete order?

Well guess that answered my question (above) about somebody being told to go pound sand.

I got transferred to the loyalty rep, and had to counter his offers in order to get the Roku. I waited close to 30 minutes to chat with him. It sounds like the offers are based on who you get. I've been with dish since 98, I agree with the other posters that this is a good for them to do this.

LOL

"You are currently number 32 in the queue. You should be connected to an agent in about 00:54.The average amount of time a customer has to wait is 01:01:05."

I called the regular 800# and, to my surprise was on the line for less than five minutes and was transferred to retention and completed the call in 27 minutes with the ROKU on the way, $10/12 credit and they will credit me for $2.99 each time one of the original series plays.

Wow - thanks for all the info provided here on Satellite Guys.

I think it was a 1 time $20 credit for the 10 episodes of Breaking Bad this season. If I get this upfront it could mean we're in for a long siege.
Season 1 of Breaking Bad was 7 episodes. Seasons 2, 3, and 4 were 13 episodes each. Season 5 is supposed to be 16 episodes. At first I was going to say you're being ripped off. However, it seems that season 5 will be split into 8 episodes this summer and 8 episodes next summer (why don't they just call them seasons 5 and 6?). So, actually you're getting a little extra.
