Someone explain DISH's thought process to me

Great question! My letter only said 6 months.

I don't know. Maybe you should call about your upgrade and be "Nice"! Even though it seems like you haven't been treated "equally" in the past!! Just tell them you may cancel altogether and explore other options.

It's mid-July and I was just told by DIRT I was ineligible for Hopper upgrade as well. Maybe it has to do with bundling through CenturyLink who they no longer partner with. Perhaps it's time to just flip providers again. Whatever. Six of one, half dozen of the other.

Not everyone qualifies for an upgrade. I know it sucks but Dish usually has a good reason why unless there is an error.
 
Call in and say cancel service or select it and that will transfer you to loyalty department. Tell them that you want to get the hopper for a reasonable price or you'll be canceling . Hopefully they will help .

Yeah. Really, though, why bother? I've had this 622 for, I don't know, five years maybe. And the protection plan that you don't even need anymore for that long as well! We'll see.
