DISH COVERAGE OF OLYMPICS

NBC online and their two apps on Itunes and Android market will provide live coverage of every single event for Olympics as long as you subscribe to right package on Dish , Direct TV or cable

Anyone get the olympic app on their box from dish? I know you have to go to ch100 dish home, but I can't find dish home in my 922. in fact I cannot figure out how to add any apps to my 922

I just went to interactive applications on my 722k. The 6 channels I see are: MSNBC, CNBC, NBCSP, BRAVO, USA, and USN. I hope as the Olympics gets going tommorow that USA and USN get replaced by 147OBBL and148OSOC. Where will our local NBC go to? I have the AEP package.I then went to #4 sports and there I see a NBC Olympics logo. When I selected it, I was sent to 159NBCSP. Hopefully this is were they will add the apps mentioned above.

Does anyone know if any other providers have package restrictions for those two channels? If not, then Dish is certainly getting more unlikeable.

Cox offers both the missing channels in their basic packages and 3d coverage. Dish should give us a Free Preview of those two channels thru the Olympics.

Finally seems to be working, it's been seriously buggy software.

The iOS apps have been updated twice already since I installed them about 2 days ago. Be sure to check for available updates regularly.

Any thinking that part of the problem might be NBC's refusal to carry events in real time? Even though the BBC's webpage is full of photos from the opening ceremonies, my family in Canada talks about the lovely event that they saw, NBC would have us believe that nothing won't start until 7:30 PM EDT. But then again, NBC would also have you think that events where the Americans aren't winning don't happen either.....

I'm trying hard not to add NBC Sports tonight so that I can see more events as I have the 200 package (with the 2 channels that are broadcasting blank screens, but I think the soccer channel is playing Olympic music)

Scott, no luck. Blue button takes me to broadband setup. Gen takes me to some weird channel adding screen no idea what that is. I really want the app, any suggestions?

For those who said I was full of xxxx Dish is bringing the Olympics to TV on special channels :DISH Network - Investor Relations - 1.888.825.2557
Nobody said Dish wasn't going to be doing this, or that you were full of it. They were merely pointing out that the "news" article you referenced was two years old, and from the Winter Olympics.

In fact, everybody already new they were going to be doing this, and had already been talking about it for a while.

You're on an old revision - 212 or earlier. Not sure exactly, but I assume you need 217 for the app.

well just got done chatting with "advanced" tech support who advised me the 922 does not have the ability to download the app. He said I have to be watching an Olympic channel and at certain times a prompt will come up and then I can access the app for that time frame. He also advised the 922 does not have the ability to download any other apps. Fail - so lame. Anyway I hope he is wrong, if not what I waste of technology. There is no reason the 922 should not be able to do these things.

On a lighter note, Mr. Bean in the Opening Ceremonies made me laugh too Scott. Always has been a favorite of mine.
