Hello ther guys. Can anyone tell me what is the best C-band LNBF in the market for FTA? What is much better either,a C/KU or a single C-band LNBF? Wich one works better on C-band system?
Regards, Israel.

Well if there is no budget, go for an orthomode feed horn and a pair of high quality PLL C-Band single polarity LNBs. Should be doable for about a grand$. :)

If you want a cheap but very usable C-Band LNBF.

Three models to check out (Ebay normally has the cheapest price on them)
ESX 241
BSC 421
GeoSatPro C1

GeoSatPro C2 Dual Output C Band LNBF

Inexpensive, and the two outputs provide future expansion.

GEOSATpro C2 is no longer available. :(

The manufacturer redesigned the PCB based on a new chipset and performance gains were lost. We decided to discontinue rather than sell just an average quality product.

If you go with a dual output LNBF other than the Geosat, get the DMX242 if you can find one. Unlike the DMX242, the ESX 242 has a sealed cover & cannot be opened to dry out the components. The DMX has a cover retained by 4 screws.
I just had an ESX fail in the July heat. A much shorter lifespan than the DMX it replaced. I opted for a dual C-band ortho with Norsat 8515s this time.

Sorry to hacking the thread!!...But When happened this change so Now the Geosat pro C2 on the market are no good as before??
How we can detect this change on the unit? any lot, code number, date etc etc..
I have purchased one last two months on ebay dealer:(

bummer. I've still got 4 here so I better not break them :)

Question: Is the DMX741 even better than the Geosatpro model and BSC621?

Examining technical specifications finds Geosatpro and BSC621 have gains of 65 dB and DMX741 has 70 dB.

Is this 5 dB increase accurate?

Greater signal level means NOTHING, if it's noisier! So, we'd need the specs posted for each one to attempt to determine that.

How long did it last?

Only 6 months. Failure was a corroded cold solder joint @ one of the barrel connectors entering the LNBF. Not reparable.
Installed the other one @ ivanyakinoff's Orbitron. I better check with him now.:(

You misunderstood. There was no change.

The GEOSATpro C2 is no longer manufactured. Some dealers still have stock and are selling them, but the C2 is now a discontinued item.

I got to get me one of these, for some reason never got around to trying one out, I have several of the other brands.
