Video will be posted as soon as it's uploaded to youtube in about 30 minutes.

I noticed on the guide and menus there is a cursor. No one puts a cursor on something for the hell of it.

So I plugged in the wireless receiver to my mouse, and it WORKS.

You can move the cursor around just like a normal mouse. Click on things with the left button. The Right button brings up the menu. Click the guide and use your scroll wheel to quickly skim through the guide.

I am not sure if this will work with a wired mouse, as I do not have any.

On youtube...they have a hopper that haz a remote...with a built in keyboard...on the back of the remote. Plus a webbrowser i think in it as well...youtube hopper...says keyboard

That remote with the keyboard was reviewed here, it is not for sale, may or my not ever be. It was a demonstration of what was possible.
Also, there was mention of using a wireless mouse with the Hopper, it may have been in the other forum, or it may have been in one of the many write-ups about the Hopper on the Web. A wireless keyboard with a pointing device was said to work as well.

I plugged in a wireless keyboard and mouse and the mouse worked but the hopper only responded to the arrow keys, number keys, enter, delete, but no letter keys. That would make searching far easier. :(

If you have a ps3 and a Logitech Revue googleTV then your Hopper can be controlled by your PS3 controller. I found this out by accident one day when I was using my Revue's USB port to charge my PS3 controller. I forgot to disconnect the wire (to sync with my PS3) and started pressing buttons and channels on my Hopper started changing :) However, I am not sure if connecting the controller directly to the Hopper will have the same effect.

Yep, i use a Trackball, so just a matter of rolling the ball to go sideways, the middle roller scrolls up or down.

This info is not right, no way to scroll right or left with Logitech Trackball, but my little Lenovo mouse/keyboard can scroll with arrow keys.
