I may watch the USA and the Venezuela teams because the Tigers are mostly playing there.
True World Series amongst countries. I find it funny and interesting that all our professional sports call the champion a "world champion" when no one outside the US compete.

I agree, but it's always been that way, so were use to it.
The MLB would be kinda bland if ONLY players from the USA and Canada were allowed in.

Not to mention the new stadium. I would think you would want more eyes on the team during this time.

It would certainly have a lack of talent in most instances.
Between the new stadium profits and "luxury tax" teams like the two LA teams, the Yankees, Braves, Red Sox, Rangers and now the Blue Jays... Have to pay, I read that Marlins get about $50 million a year. So why should he care.
The rule, and I could be wrong here, is that money is supposed to go BACK into the team in FA and the Farm system. Whether Loria is really doing that is anyone's guess but even if he told the media and was obvious as the nose on his face he was sticking the money his pocket... the commissioner would not have the balls to do or say anything....ESPECIALLY after bailing that SOB out of Montreal.

What I don't understand it why MLB let him buy another team? I just don't understand.
My assumption is that he has pics of Bud in undesirable situations in a safe somewhere. That is the ONLY reason I can think of.

Henry, Loria sold the Expos to "Expos Baseball, LP," a partnership of the other 29 major league clubs, for $120 million. In effect, the Expos were sold to the commissioner's office. Henry then sold the Marlins to Loria for $158.5 million, including a $38.5 million no-interest loan from MLB. Basically Bud didn't care because he thought he'd contract the Twins and Expos. Funny how after this whole thing went down the Twins got good and "his" Brewers sucked
Anyone who thinks these WBC games are glorified exhibition games are sadly mistaken. Forget the brawl in the Mexico-Canada game...the emotion I have seen is these games have been intense. Almost game seven-ish of a playoff series type of intensity. Now that team Puerto Rico has advanced to the 2nd round HERE in Miami, I am definitely going. To see the emotion of the players from my little island eliminate favored Venezuela was awesome!

I have a question/thought on the whole every day there is a inter-league game
So Houston is the reason we have to do this BS.....why is it THEIR first interleague game isn't until the middle of May? I understand they want to start against Texas but they should have been the example and had their 2nd series be against a NL team
One other thing I saw was Texas and Arizona play a day night DH on Memorial Day in Arizona????

Thats cool, while I enjoyed seeing the the players play in the games and still watching the USA and Canada at the moment, with V going down, the Tigers get Cabrera and Infante back.
Wait a minute, Venezuela WON today, and they are eliminated ?

Venezuela was eliminated with the 2nd loss. I will see all the games involving Puerto Rico here in Miami.
