Well it seems there's a few things... One big improvement is the PTAT being fully active, outside of prime time hrs any combination of DVR timers for the four major networks can be recorded using only one tuner. Also the recall button gives you the ability to quickly switch between watching a live program and a DVR event. The hopper w/sling has a few Wi-Fi connectivity improvements such as an option disable Wi-Fi if it had been previously set up but hard line or HIC is now used. Overall a nice update.

It would help to indicate which Hopper model you're referring to. Some people may know what version the original Hopper has as well as the Hopper w/ Sling to know which is must apply to, but I had to check.

I have the regular Hopper & 1 Joey. Got the update. I noticed two things thus far... and I am very thankful for this one... External HD now shows thumbnail pics! About time! One other little thing is that in the apps screen, when you click on an icon it kind of 'jumps' slightly. No big deal, just something I noticed.

Yes the Hopper2000 which got S244 is what I was referring to, my apologies. Not sure what the software number the Hopper with sling has, only there is no an on/off for Wi-Fi and a prompt will appear when a Wi-Fi network is detected and a connection has not been previously made.

Don't understand what you are saying!

The PrimeTime Anytime does not need to be enabled to use this feature.
For example if lets say your recording a show on fox and ABC both from 2:00-3:00 it will record them both on the same tuner. Basically you can record all the major 4 networks at "anytime" and at the same time only using one tuner.

Have you actually made any recordings yet? The Big 4 channels have been available for viewing anytime on one tuner since S238, but requires a tuner per channel to record outside of prime time. I would think all the locally originated programs outside of prime time would not make it feasible, but maybe it can.

Well, I guess I never notice that issue before, but maybe I shouldn't say anymore since I don't have the first Hopper. I am glad it is fixed.

Not at home but saw the hopper w sling has a picture with what is on that channel to go with the recall button...does the orginal hopper have this now too???

External HD now shows thumbnail pics! WooHoo!!!!!!! Can't wait to get the update on mine...that is one small bug that was really, um, bugging me!

I got 244/292 on all 4 boxes this AM. The new feature adding a DVR playback to the recall list is a real plus for me. I do that a lot when watching a live show and switching to a recording during commercials. I used to do it using the swap key but it's more convenient this way.

I also played with my custom favs lists and can now add and delete one channel at a time so it looks like they did some fixes there. Hopefully the dropping channels problem was fixed too. Time will tell

Yes. I'm watching NBC, recording ABC, CBS, and Fox. TV viewing status shows the other two tuners as available.

Interesting.... There was just a discussion about making the "Recall" button operate this way, along the lines of what DirecTV does.

What DVR event does it list, the most recently watched one, I presume ?
