Will the Miami Marlins do it?

Will the 2013 Marlins outdraw the 2001 Expos (Expos drew 642,745 that year)?

I feel bad for manager Mike Redmond. I mean think abut it
You get your 1st job as a big league manager....2 days later they take away most of your good ballplayers

Rumor has it he KNEW about the big trade and they told him that this would be the ONLY chance he would manage within the Marlins organization.

AND since he managed ALOT of those kids, he had NO ISSUES with the trade.

why? Because you were one of the 642,745 fans that went there that year?
(I'm just screwing with ya)

I counted for about 25 (Home opener, weekend series and last game). That particular Home Opener was quite depressing since the Loria writing was on the wall.

Cheers, K

I wonder is Loria and mini-me (Daniel San's MTL nickname) will show their faces at the home opener....ah who am I kidding!

Also, am surprised MLB sat on their collective arses and let Loria practically destroy another team's fan base considering his history.
Been there, done that, hate the bastard so I can relate. Lone bright spot is Miami still has a team.

Cheers, K

My apologies for the strong language... Expos/Loria is one of the few topics that gets me going.

I am RIGHT THERE with ya! Loria has naked pics of Bud.

DO you think at the home opener he will even show his face (Loria..not Bud)?
Or will he be like the pope-mobile and bulletproof glass?

He has his seats just behind the Marlins on-deck circle. We shall see...

IIRC, he was in sec 109 in Montreal (right next to the on-deck circle as well). My family seats were the next section over and we saw him from time to time.
I remember his first home opener w/ the Expos.. he was pratically worshiped... didnt last too long.

@ ICE--> If he shows up, he'll be in a box somewhere up high where he wont get hit by a beer bottle.

heard this morning that a paper ( don't remember which one) posted an article saying the marlins park serves the most expensive beer in MLB. now people want to know why LMAO!!! more great press Loria. moron....

I wish whoever voted that they'd reach a million speak up. Nobody in the thread so far has said they would reach it

Which is more appropriate: A or B ?

Well, on Monday when the Marlins finally have thier Home Opener ...

How close are they to having a sell out , or is that just a illusion and won't happen regardless ?

IF they do have a sell out, what is it, like 42, 000 ?
Wonder how many are seat that were actually paid at full ticket prices vs the hand outs and cheap 2 4 1 deals ?

According to the Tigers TV guys they have already sold over 2 million tickets and are projected to sell 3 million again. The fact that Miami will be lucky to hit a million in their brand new stadium is a joke. I know a lot of it is due to bad ownership and dumping all their best players.

Would it really matter if things were different though? Look at Tampa. They can't sell tickets either and they have relatively successful and exciting teams. They get national exposure but they still don't get much fan support.

I think I read the Tigers have over 2 million tickets sold as Season tickets or Partial Season Ticket sales.

Thats amazing.
