Economy must be booming down there. Smith, was this you? ;)

When the Coaches' Trophy from Alabama's 2011 BCS national title was accidentally shattered last April, it was valued at $30,000. At an auction held at the Alabama Celebrity Golf Tournament on Sunday, the remaining pieces of shattered glass that were put into a glass dish was auctioned off for three times that much: $105,000.

If the new owner is smart (oxymoron I know), he will crush this thing into meth size pieces and sell it as "Roll Tide Roll" on the streets all over Gumpland. He'll make multiple times what he paid for it. :)

Love the optimism. :computerwindow:

Well it would be rather stupid of me to not say it wouldn't be a good game cause if you look at the returning defenses of both teams it really should be. The offense on the other hand has bama with a major leg up unless something really amazing happens which is way up in the air at this time.

I just dont know where you came up with the saying that Vtech would have a defense in the top 5 of the nation. I just do not see any logical reason to think that. I mean you know Alabama LSU would be there. Perhaps The Ohio State (Mainly because the rest of the big 10 are like peewee teams atm maybe theyll get better this year?) So OSUs stats should be good. Then of course you have florida (whos defense was in the top 10 last year, and they return and reloaded a lot of talent on defense) and GA, and South Carolina (who has a defensive player who most certainly will be in the hesiman hunt this year) and even from the ACC you have the much hyped FSU defense who did great last year and got stronger. I mean I just dont see any room for a team that went 7-6 in the ACC.. To be this year a top 5 defense.

Alabama will be steam rolling VTech (Saban doesn't mess up on opening day) Your coach is known for it. Just be glad you do not play FSU this year and have one of the easiest roads the ACC title game compared to many others. You do not play FSU or Clemson the two best teams in your league. If you do not win your division at least well that will say a lot about where VTech is.

Lets get to the real point at hand. Which SEC team will again win the national title this year? There are 6 teams that come to mind when I think who has the best shots and in no particular order

1. Alabama
2. LSU
3. Texas AnM (imagine?!)
4. Florida
5. GA
6. South Carolina (holy hell where did they come from. Ol Ball coach bringing them to the promise land)

Is there another conference that has 6 teams who all have a legitimate shot at the national title? I mean any one of those 6 teams above based on the last 2-3 years (which you do not try to go back much farther in college cause they switch players so often) have a great shot in the title.

It will come down to which team survives the battles between each other the best.

In the SEC West Alabama is the front runner following closely by LSU and aTm. The SEC East is wide open. It is anyone's division to win With the three front runners FLA, GA, SCAR and Vanderbilt (shocker?) who has moved beyond push over status and may see there light rising, and Tenn (what is going on in knoxville will they get it together this year?) And Kentucky so everyone can have a break. (sorry Kentucky fans)

My vote is Florida. How did I come to this decision you ask? I'm a FLA fan duh. ;) GO GATORS!

(PS: I think we'll know after the first game against tulsa if FLA will be worth anything on offense. If our offense is fixed and working no doubt about how far we can go. As our defense has been solid for quite some time despite our poor offense)
