So lets get this straight...

I would have really thought, the major ad campaign, would boost sales. This is the most I have ever seen, read, heard, dish advertising.

It may have increased Dish's sales, I just don't think it's increased sales for retailers as much as we would've hoped. Dish's plan was for retailers to get out and advertise more events. Seems they are pushing events more and it sounds like it may work. I myself do not really have the time, or am I willing to take the time to run such events. If my sole business was selling Dish then I may do it but we wear a lot of different hats in our business.

I have not actually seen any figures yet as to how Dish's sales are right now. I'm guessing they are up compared to last year. I guess I'll find out when the rest of you find out at the end of the quarter.

And as Shermann replied, perhaps not for him, but not a testament for Dish as a whole.

Yea,I'd be surprised if sales weren't up.One would think with such an aggressive ad campaign it would boost sales. Will be interesting to see the results.

So I cut the cord in February. If dish is looking to increase sales with this promotion I would think that it would run on network TV, I haven't seen it, doesn't mean it's not there, just that I haven't seen it. Sure they want folks to jump from other pay TV providers, but there are plenty of folks that grew tired of paying for a lot of channels with nothing to watch that have cut the cord. If they want to get any of them back the ads need to run on OTA as well as pay channels....

Just saying....

Ps an IPad2 isn't enough to get me back but it might be for some....

Perhaps they thought that trying to lure back cord-cutters wasn't cost-effective enough to justify the higher costs of advertising on broadcast networks. You said it yourself...it isn't enough to bring you back, so why would you think there would be many others that would?

"I would think that it would run on network TV"

"Network TV" is "peeved" at Dish over autohop and is unlikely to run their commercials.

Even more "peeved" now that Apple is reported to be willing to pay something to have similar technology. Which by the way I am "peeved" at. Why set any precedence of paying for what so far is not considered to be compensatable?

I don't want or need an iPad2. It was annoying enough to go thru the Craig's List selling of the latest Retina iPad Cadillac gave all of us CUE (Cadillac User Experience infotainment system) victims.
