Am starting to think am the butt of a cosmic joke.
Been trying to get those elusive NBC's all day.. and nada! Not a hint of a signal.

Location: Burlington, VT

PLease post your results for this sat.

Cheers, K

My LNB is at zero and get the NBCs and Cozi TV just fine with my 1.2m with HH120.

Never had the need to tilt the LNB.

actually looking at say Burlington VT the skew (even the oddball one) is 0 there.....should be easier to get there

I dont have the numbers to prove it, but it seems that owners of bigger dishes (and maybe PLL LNBs) report they get by without skewing.
?

None PLL here just a cheap $5.99 shipped LNB from ebay that works hella good.

Anole at one point I was able to get those with the Winegard system by bumping the dish a few clicks West (I think)? Not so now though. On the SAMI I had to turn the LNBF about 20* CW to get them to lock.

Are you getting the beach cams?If not try for them first they're easier and you'll at least know you're on the sat.

I'm using an old Directway dish, about 22"x3',(I don't know never measured it) with a Geosat pll on it,no skew on dish or lnbf.Works fine as long as the weather isn't too bad.
Right now (clear) sig 78 qual 68 on 11759 NBC,same for Cozi 11839.Using AZultra.

Label me stumped.

Weather: slightly overcast
Receiver: MicroHD
LNB: SP1PLL
Dish size: 39"
Skew: 0
18840/H/30000: 55-70%

Sp1 LNB arrived on Thursday... I give up..maybe its because its almost in the middle of the night..

I think you mean 11840

They're at 11760, 11840 & 11880 H 30000

Note these feeds while up 24/7 dont always have programming on them

My bad 11840.

Overall, 21 channels (102 music) scanned in. The NBCs were at 50% and breaking up. Going to try again in the middle of the day.

I think I may need to tweak my dish more. Same Geosatpro receiver and Geosatpro PLL LNB, but with a 1.2m dish. All NBC feeds hover around the low 70s. If one can get 70% with a 39", should I be getting more SQ on my 1.2 dish or is the bigger ku dish there to help with rain fade/adjacent satellite interference?

I just spent 20 minutes peaking my one meter dish. Yesterday Cozi was breaking up and couldn't get NBC East. Took the viewsat out to the dish and peaked using the beach cams.

Cozi 83Q
Huntington 68-70Q
NBC East 80-82Q
NBC West 86Q

AZbox/1 meter starchoice/banstacked starchoice Lnb

I love that little Sp1PLL LNB (Kudos again to SatAV). Did another full scanwithin the last hour (mostly clear skies), 103w's NBC's came in at 55% (0 skew), finally reeived something off those Satmexs', and a bunch of first time channels came in (Florida Channel etc). No Cozi though (yesterday it was at 70%)

Cheers, K

After a 1000 mile move I was a bit shocked that I'm picking up AMC-1H. Most everything comes in though 11840 is a bit touchy. Using a Sami 10ft with Dual Ortho C-Ku feed.

Using a 1 meter channelmaster dish with a norsat dro .6db, +/- 125khz stability lnb (from Seaford Long Island).

11760 H/30000- Q-98 ...S-91 DVB-S2

11840 H/30000- Q-98....S-93 "

11880 H/30000- Q-98....S-94 "

Transponder 19 slots A-F (varies per uplink carrier) S- 75-85 DVB-S

Peaked dish using first strike meter on 11900 V-20000 Microspace beach cam...DVB-S // S- 88-90

You may want to ck if a) your antenna is plumb / perfectly level.... b)no obstructions, like any trees or part of a house blocking signal.

AMC 1 is a 60 watt transponder so with a 1.2 meter dish is more sufficient to get a good signal. Also NBC requires uplinkers with the exception of their network

transponders to operate at a lower power due to affiliate antennas which are larger I think 6 meter or higher. With moderate rain fade, my signal drops only to 80-85 signal

strength. My lnb is skewed -25 degrees to achieve the proper DVB-S2 signals. Remember DVB-S2 requires higher power in order to decode them properly.

Also using Pansat HDX 9500 receiver. Most other occasional NBC feeds (News) uses DVB-S2, symbol rate of 4.600 mb's 1080I with 5.1 embedded audio.

Hope this helps......

Unless I adjust the skew on my 36" motorized Primestar it's hit on miss for most of 103W for me...except for the beach cams which are always locked in with a good solid signal

I could only ever get the NBC West and Mountain feeds on a 76cm dish, even with skew, but when I switched to a 1 meter Winegard boom! They all come in very strong with no change in skew.
