Can we finally put to bed any argument that Peyton Manning is the greatest QB of all time? He's now lost more postseason games than any QB in NFL history. In what universe does that equate to GOAT?? If you want to say he's the greatest REGULAR SEASON QB of all time, I could see that, but sorry, not when it counts. And I'm not trying to turn this into yet another Manning/Brady thing. Joe Montana, John Elway and even Johnny Unitas can lay claim to GOAT, but not Manning. IMO, you can't lay claim to GOAT when you're not even the greatest QB on EITHER of the franchises you played for (Unitas-Colts, Elway-Broncos).

He IS one of the greatest QB to play, but no where near the top 5 or maybe even top 10 of all time.

In all fairness, he would be in MY top 5. His regular season stats alone would put him there (and he has won one SB). However, greatest of all time is laughable, IMO, considering all his postseason failures.

I haven't said much about the Super Bowl...but I had a strange feeling that the Seahawks would win. My heart got what it wanted, The Donkeys getting killed, being a Raider fan would expect anything else?!

....and before I go on, I ALSO don't believe I should root for Denver because they are part of the AFC West...those allegiances, like college football conference, don't mean squat to me....

...anyway, something that cemented my thinking of who was going to win was a stat I had first heard on local radio: just about the entire NFC West was in the top 10 in the NFL in defense.. Seattle, SF and ATL were all in the top ten and the Rams in the top 15. Without a shadow of a doubt, the toughest division in the NFL. Also, if you remember all of Denver's losses, they were against very physical teams. The Donkeys had no one as physical as the Seahawks. I also believe that IF the 49ers had beaten the Seahawks, as physical as THEIR defense was, it would have been more or less the same.

For now, I will let my hate for the Donkeys take credit for the pick. LOL

Being in the same division means absolutely nothing in the NFL when it comes to cheering in my mind. No one cares how good your division is, it only matters how well you do overall. There is no strength of schedule or rankings to worry about.

It's no where near college football when you actually care about what the teams in your conference do. Having a strong conference means a lot more to your favorite team.

An old member of the AFC West did win it. :)

I was just going through every NFL team in my head, and I gotta tell ya, going into 2014 the NFC is LIGHT YEARS ahead of the AFC. IMO, every one of the 16 NFC teams has something going for it: dominant D, great QB, great RB, talented overall roster, etc. The AFC doesn't even come close to that. I would argue that pre- draft, free agency that the 6 weakest rosters are all in the AFC.

I agree 100%

"The NFC Championship was the Super Bowl. The 49ers were the second-best team in the NFL."

Thats probably true, but remember, this all goes in cycles ...
Not long ago you could have said the same about the AFC.
