DISH Reaches Long Term Agreement with DISNEY / ESPN / ABC

Think of this way, this is most likely the template for other network agreements. Could be we will pay this with autohop, or we will pay this with altered autohop, but not we will have no autohop.

Another but lol Our bills both last year and this year, would indicate that autohop has done nothing to keep prices lower,if anything it's actually made them higher.A customer with AEP would now be paying $20 more today than they were 2 years ago. That doesn't even include all the equipment fees.

I'm not seeing how Autohop is responsible for the price increases, increases that have happened virtually every year before there was a Hopper. Perhaps the the cost of technology helped to raise prices, meaning the complete Hopper system. If you mean the agreements with the affiliates, no one else has autohop and many other carriers had no contracts for awhile with affiliates and lost them.

I fail to see how the AEP price increase has anything to do with Autohop.

But....what about customers that don't have hoppers? We got the same increases.

Either way,I'm glad a deal is done, glad to see channels coming back in HD.I still say the evil mouse won,and I dread to see our bills come next year.

I'm pretty sure the price increases this year (the highest single year increase) factored in the Disney deal already. Word was the deal was already done in principle long before the price increases.

I sure hope your right. It would be very nice not to have another huge increase come next Feb,I ain't holding my breath though.

Glad the deal is done. I look forward to ESPN News in HD again. As for the 3 day wait, I never get to my recorded shows that quickly and i rarely watch ABC anyway. Actually, who watches ABC come to think of it?

Really just one show for me off hand, Modern Family

What did then? What constitutes a $20 increase in 24 months? When inflation was stagnant?Perhaps it was the litigation with AMC,Disney,NBC,CBS,and Fox?
Take a look at the cost of premiums, those alone went up almost that much.

It had nothing to do with the Hopper.

Hardly. A solid compromise.
Thats what I say as well.

DISH knows that the need to work with the programmers not against them. Charlie even said on the earnings call he would have done it differently if he was doing it again.

It was a rush to say they were first and they didn't think out the repercussions down the line.

So....Did the autohop do anything to keep prices lower? That's my point. What about the average customer with no premiums,$10 more in 24 months.DTV rate hikes weren't that much in the same time frame.

So I decided to just lurk at the other site, as someone mentioned no dish posts for the last 2-3 hours. And really it's not a Dish thing, it's big satellite news no matter who your provider is

problems with DVD and DVR since hooking up new TV

Is this the same ehd ???
