I nominate the DiSH Network ViP722(k) as the best home satellite receiver of all time. Especially considering its longevity in service and innovative design (I think it actually won some kind of award). DiSH was the tech, DVR & HD leader and 722 culminated the HD revolution.

I loved the 722k too, but it is no match to the Hopper 3. I would never go back.

i could never drop the hopper 3 and that's coming from a genie 2 let alone a 722k !!! put an SSD in the hopper and it's blazing fast. id'e say that dish has always had the best hardware out of anyone!!! the hoppers upconvert beautifully all HD shows looks like there in 4K!!! some SD shows look like there in HD and this are shows filmed in the 50's!!!!
