In a dual Hopper 3 installation, does Signal Protector failover remain limited to three receivers across the account, or does each Hopper independently provide Signal Protector to its own Joey clients?

Heavily edited and redacted answer.

IMHO since the joey clients are not receivers, just clients, the Hopper does all the work and just sends a signal to each Joey.
However, each signal to a Joey occupies a tuner on the Hopper and AFAIK the Hopper can negotiate three ethernet streams at a time.
With dual Hopper installation that number should apply to each Hopper, so you might be able to have 6 signal protection instances in that case.
My best guess.

I don't see why he would need the signal saver ;). I could see if he lived in FL why he might need it :bounce:oops:. i remeber going to Phoenix years ago in the middle of DEC it was sunny and 99 degrees F out
I lived in Phoenix for a couple of years when I was a kid. As I remember, it didn't rain very much. However, when it did, it sometimes came down as brief torrential downpours with all kinds of lightning and flash flooding. These kind of downpours could easily cause brief rain fade. Fortunately, these events are rare; maybe only once a year.

Just to put a finer point on it, I went and looked up historical records. Arizona (and therefore Phoenix) is prone to summertime thunderstorms and sometimes heavy rainfall; with the peak being in August. This fits with my childhood recollections. Any heavy rainfall could trigger rain fade, which makes Signal Saver useful for those occasional times.

P.S. if anyone who actually lives in Phoenix has a better characterization than my 65 year old memories, please chip in.
