DISH Reaches Long Term Agreement with DISNEY / ESPN / ABC

they weren't injected commercials because the ESPN bottom line never went away. And as I said the Dish logo popped up on the bottom line replacing the ESPN logo for a second

Well many ads are not made and paid for by Dish, but rather retailers or service providers. There is an ad that drives me crazy as its soo long and so stupid they have had to change it twice cause of complaints of how they advertised HD free for life but it wasn't available no more then they changed it again to note the most HD cause some typo that was found. The company that runs it I found thru some searching is in a mid western state so they must be trying to suck up the subs in this area for some odd reason and I'm sure they run the same ad in other states. Dish as a whole I'm sure is hard up for subs in general as they may not be able to steal enough money from their techs as they used to or are not getting those stupid smart home services sales as they figured they would get.

I am not really sure what just happened here.

Spring.

Isn't "spring" about right now? Kids have spring break from school shortly. Officially falls between March 19 and June 21. So that would be very shortly if we fall into March 19. Dish could be more specific (i.e. early Spring, late Spring, by Memorial Day, by Easter, by Mother's Day, etc.) if it wanted to. Instead it pretty much calls for a three month period.

I was under the impression that, in addition to the contract being worked out and approved, the time between October and now was also taken up by getting the technology ready.

I guess not.

Such optimism...you must be new to following Dish Network. ;)

You'll be better off if you set your mind to late spring my friend.

I don't know about other people, but I'm not checking the uplink reports or scanning my guide repeatedly looking for channels to show up. They'll show up when they show up .... life goes on until then.

Pretty much how I see it. The prospect of new H Dis exciting, but not something I'm going to obsess over.

Exactly...I'm looking forward to ESPN U in HD, but as often as this thread is updated, I figure I'll see it here long before I actually have a chance to check it on the guide :D
